I've played Yellow, Silver, Sapphire.
Out of the top of my head my favorite Pokemon are: Articuno, Suicune, Kyogre and that Pokemon from the new generation that looks like the Grim Reaper.... Darkrai.
By the way, I skipped through most of the posts so I'm not sure if you got your answer, so here it is what I found according to IGN:
"What is one hundred percent new to the Pokemon franchise is the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support, and it is undoubtedly a way-cool function of the Nintendo DS version. Where battles were once confined to local areas using link cable or the temporarily free Wireless GBA adapter is now open to anywhere you've got access to a compatible Wi-Fi spot. In other words, you can be either face-to-face or thousands of miles apart in order to battle and trade between systems. Nintendo went the extra mile, too, by incorporating voice chatting using the Nintendo DS microphone, or optionally a headset peripheral. The ability to talk to the other user during a fight makes everything that much more interactive and "in your face," even when the other person isn't even in same room with you during the fight."

Gotta catch 'em all!

I havn't picked up pearl in a while. Your all making it tempting though. I would need to start a new game but I could have a good team up and running in a bit.
I would be very interested in doing Lusternia battles.

Oi, Mimi, I'm in China right now and I happen to have Diamond with me.
But yeah, my Pokemon are horrendously overpowered.

EDIT: Somehow it makes me happy that Gabe is 30 and playing poke'mon... Makes me feel more secure in being 21 and doing so.

Not only is he playing Pokémon, he's schooling asshats.

That's funny. My friend code has been in my sig for weeks now just because I needed a quick place to jot it down where I'd always have it a click away.
I've got Diamond on DS and my favorite from the new lineup include:
Luxray
Glaceon
Leafeon
Lucario
My all-time favorites are:
The Abra evolution chain
Bulbusaur
Charmeleon
Umbreon
Marowak
Mew
The legendary birds of the first series, i.e. Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno.
I've never been impressed with the variety of common flying types in any of the games. What's up with Staraptor? Its a Pidgeotto with a haircut.
I started breeding a lot of pokemon with optimal battling stats a while back. WoW has distracted me from that lately but if anyone wants to trade I'll be more than happy to accomodate.
