Well, it was pretty cool. But in the end, it was annoying that undead got afflicted with it. And I didn't like that you couldn't eat, and couldn't fight.
But still, over all, it was really nice.

It was awesome. This is the first event where I could really help at all. I ended up spending almost 24 hours online over the course of the event. I'm exhausted, but exhilarated.

I love that we couldn't eat and do stuff, it actually made it urgent to work with each other to solve it, and even made combat interesting when plagued people fought each other (and my interesting, I mean nasty). I was kind of "meh" about it when it came down to just trying to find all the wanderers I could for the umpteenth time and bring them to the well, but I know it was sort of the healers' big thing. I only got in on the first battle against the Lord, but that was pretty fun too. The ensuing skirmish against the Magnagorans wasn't so much fun, being stuck on the ground with punctured body parts and broken limbs and unable to do much, though I kind of found some humour in that. I liked the event a lot overall, though I'd love to have had more ways to contribute. The basis in old medicine is always a nice touch, by the way, well done. I'm not a healer, but the skills seem like they make healers even more desirable allies, if they can give me an aura that will help cure my most hated afflictions.

From what I've seen, I liked it. It was interesting have a new affect on people. Although I'm surprised I didn't see any public news postings about it.
I'm curious about the "Urge to Infect" notice. Was the intent of this to get people to bite others without forcing the issue automatically? I wasn't sure how to respond to that. (I did it once). Maybe in the future if you want to have an effect like that, you could gain Karma from doing such action--as an indication that the behavior is expected RP wise--I wasn't sure if I should play angst resisting or become a little more "zombie-like". The effect is sort of like when you get a note from the DM telling you you've been enthralled and should behave in a certain manner.

Fighting the Lord of Contagion was pretty fun despite how I died all four times. The plague would've been more bearable if some people weren't so intent on abusing it, and it actually let us eat or apply or smoke a few times instead of having 5 seconds or so to do it every 3 minutes.
No idea what the healers have gotten, yet.

While I understand that aspects of the event proved inconvenient for some players, this has been brewing for awhile now, and I'm grateful for all the time and effort invested.
The introduction of a modern shared history for healers is a gift, and I look forward to playing around with the new auras over the coming days. At first glance, these skills should both enable healers to assume a support role in group combat more convincingly, and improve their options in single combat, without contradicting the 'nature' of healing, or creating walking buff-bots.
I really enjoyed myself.

My response to this is pretty much the same as what I posted in the Lack of Rants 2 thread earlier.
I am glad that it's over and that the Healing skill has been greatly improved. I'm still unsure exactly what changes were made, but everyone else seems very happy with them, so I'll take that as a good sign.

Could you please just cure everyone that has the plague, now that the cure is well-known? It's really annoying because there are a few people walking around that still have it and haven't been cured yet and if you're in the room with one of them for more than two seconds you get infected, so you have to find a healer to cure you AGAIN. And there's no way to tell who has it so you can avoid them.

~23 hours myself, it was nifty. Guess I'm a little geeky, I enjoyed talking to Ridien more then fighting the contagion lord, but I'm sure others liked that the most.QUOTE(Estarra @ Jul 21 2007, 03:50 PM) 427490

I loved at the very end where Ayridion was talking to us, we were all thinking about the affliction, and the knowledge just sort of gradually came in bit by bit, with lower skill-ranked skills changing before the higher ones.I was a little unclear, as I'm sure others were how many times we'd have to kill the Lord, or how much we'd have to link to the Well. the 5th time we killed him it seemed different but wasn't explained why.
I wish the mag's had come tried to trash the well and kill those bonding with it, but that's not the admin's fault, and two mags did do something like that early on so.
Can't think of anything other then that which I was disappointed about that was caused by the game, and not me just staying awake to much last night, because of how enthralled I was by the events.
The new skills look interesting, I'm very glad that the new additions don't completely focus completely on offense, the offense/defense ratio of the skillset remains about the same.
Quickening and the vitality aura will be helping me support, where as the change to bedevil(which I only tested out once so far, so I'll have to keep experimenting) and the aura-warp seem to help those who wanted a little bit more offense out of the skill.
The 1/3/5 health/curing aura's will be quite nice for supporting others, utility for hunting specific denizens who use certain attacks, and at the same time versatile enough to use to help yourself stay alive in melee combat. I agree with the durations they were set at, and the max number, a healer shouldn't be able to aura up a whole army of raiders and then have them keep the benefit forever.
While I'm a little at the fact that I have four 10p defenses now, I'm also glad that the new skills incorporated power skills into healing, which had none before. I'll have a use for power in situations now.

I liked this event and am currious as to what changes where made to healing.

The rate of contagion is lower than this, so it's likely that if you're quoting from an example, it was an unfortunate occurrence.

You spread the plague! Evil! Just kidding. I've no idea how it started, though. How did it start?
Kharaen2007-07-21 21:12:11
Krellan bite me, that's how it started for me. I was enjoying myself frolicing with the glowing stags in the Ethereal forest when Krellan comes along and bites me.
Ashteru2007-07-21 21:17:50
Very interesting event, I have to say. The plague was a bit annoying, since it forced to solely focus on the event for a long period, otherwise, nice build up.
Yevah2007-07-21 21:31:14
It started for me when Thoros was killing guards. Everyone who can fight had to help, and unfortunately that meant grouping up together into a nice infected group.
Even more unfortunate for me; I found myself, disconcertingly, unable to cure anything. Died once.
Died twice in the first time Celest/Serenwilde/Glomdoring killed the Lord of Contagion due to Magnagorans. Subsequent killings didn't kill me thanks to
trueheal, allheale, focus mind, and restore.
But I made up for the experience I lost; and truefavoured by Terentia and helped bring power to the Pool, and made new friends in the communes.
So, really nice event, which also made Healing better. As I wanted it to be, even if I'm not a Healer anymore.

Now that Healing isn't the most boring guild skillset, let's say we work on Runes
Unknown2007-07-21 22:05:24
It still spreads too bloody fast.

Great idea for an event. It was original and a good lead-in for a healing buff. Kind of bummed I missed it, actually.
