It was excellent to come back to Lusternia after a good year-and-a-half hiatus and experience an event like this as soon as I came back. I like, I like. And it made even the just-out-of-novicehood people feel like they were a part of something, too.

Now that the Event is over, can the plauge be less or the effects not come so quickly? Its hard to fight, hunt, or do a revolt when you can't eat any kind of herb and you fight against those who are perfectly fine
Lysandus2007-07-22 04:25:59
Can I suggest some sort of temporary immunity granted to non-healers?
Like an Alchemist who'll make a batch of potions that'll grant us protection from the plague bearer for a few minutes, let's say... 30 min?
Or a Healer be able to cast a protective shell to his/her allies which acts like what the Alchemist makes, but only for half the duration of the potion's effect?
Dunno, that's what I was thinking.

I am told that wearing a mask prevents you getting infected as long as nobody bites you

I should ask a fighter on how the new healing abilities do in PvP, but there aren't any fighters in healing. Ah well.
Anyway, good for Healing not being redundant anymore! I have no delusions that it will be as good at PvP as hexes, but at least it isn't boring and useless.

Aww... I'm sad I didnt make any impression I was a Fighting Healer... Ah well
The event was fun! I just hope I was there during the Rise and Fall of the Lord of Contagion, (can anyone give me the description?). I love the need of the people of Healer finally! It seems more real-like to have afflictions only a Healer can cure (though I must admitt this outbreak is quite maddening) perhaps people would contract them usually if they stayed too long in the snow during the winter or something. I quite miss the old Bedevil, would actually suggest the new bedevil be the effect of Aurawarp and retain the old bedevil skill. Icly I don't think it's actually wise to keep the knowledge of the plague as a weapon.
I envy the SD's however, Choke,Bedevil,Aurawarp must be overkill heh.
Once again I thank all Divine for this wonderful event. And for finally hearing out the Healers' plea. Now to build a hospital...
Simimi2007-07-22 06:39:50
Would it be considered "fair" if I got a figurine of the Lord? Is there a way to do so even?
Forren2007-07-22 06:56:54
My concern with the event was the abuse by enemies (immune to the plague) of the fact that we couldn't use a lot of our cures... so about fifty guards were slain, shrines defiled, and we couldn't do a damn thing without a large group because of the lack of an ability to cure simple things. Go plague go.
Arix2007-07-22 07:09:03
Right, because the Celestians didn't take advantage of the plague at all.
Ixion2007-07-22 07:26:52
is my opinion of people during the event.
I spied for hours on end hearing everything that was going on... and no one was the wiser for maybe 10+ hours heh.
Seeing Seren and Glom act like siamese-twin buddies was cute too.

For Alodia and those interested.
Foul drips of putrescent flesh peel and drip from the blackened bones of this
gargantuan, inhuman monstrosity. A sickening miasma of foul energy wreathes
tightly around his immense form, bespeaking of unthinkable plagues and dread
ills. Glowing crimson sockets have been sunk deep into his skull, twitching with
an eerie disinterest. Bony protrusions spear out from along his arms and legs,
row after row of yellowed, sharp daggers with needle-points. The pure malignance
exuded by this entity is overwhelming and entirely oppressive.
The Dread Lord of Contagion almost glows with nearly god-like power.

anyone willing to explain the details of the changes in healing?
Alodia2007-07-22 09:16:00
uhm well Bedevil back then can be pretty nasty when timed right, you can bounce back aeon, recklessness and rid of paralysis in an instant, the current ability from my tests doesnt actually do much either ways, hit them with it and it stays on which doesnt make it spammable. Guess the main reason I'm missing the old bedevil is that helped me in my curing, while providing a means. if small, to do something offensive still.

Well, now you can stick afflictions pretty well if you can keep them in the room. Just hit them with it, let the angel hit a few times, drop a heretic on them....damn, Healer Celestines look nasty with all those ways to afflict.
Shiri2007-07-22 09:51:23
It looks like if they DO leave the room, just following them will keep them from curing it too unless they're not aeoned or something and you're fast.
Alodia2007-07-22 13:19:43
quite the contrary a Healer Celestine could never easily manage to make a person stay with him/her in a single room, specially not without aeon. group wise bedevil is gonna hurt, but one on one it's pretty easy to escape our clutches. What I'm trying to point out is I simply lost one hassle free means of curing myself and it hurts my combat and overall strategy.
@ash as I said Imagine Choke with the Healing offensives, that would hurt worse

No, because in choke, hexes is far superior. Choke itself already hinders healing, and SDs can deal afflictions with it, while SDs with healing get the affs from Slaugh, the paralysis from barghest and...scourge, which blinds, no other affs as far as I know.
Shiri2007-07-22 13:47:47
Uncurable blindness is a bitch all on its own, mind you...
