But, wouldn't that be less of an Assembly problem, and more of one based on Timing?

Without the mythos and rp based tasks, you'd still need someone to check on your progress, and verify that you've done x, y, and z. My understanding of the other guilds (at least in Glomdoring) is that you'd run into the same problem, if your timing was off.

I think the problem is largest with the Blacktalon, though.

BT Assemblies aren't so easy when the majority of the time that I log on for any length of time the only other druid around is Marpessa.

I feel for you.

I was joking, I love being a bard.

While nowhere near as frustrating, it is depressing to be a guild leader and have no one around to advance. sad.gif

Because I didn't comment before - I think the whole BT feels for you.

We should combine the Blacktalon and the Harbingers in one super emo guild.
Tajalli2007-07-30 02:45:55
How would you combine them? Best I can think of would be song awakening trees, trees realising how much life sucks, and uprooting themselves to end the misery - and that would be an attack, because they could fall on whomever was being targetted.

Oh, and emo, that reminds me of a link to put up in the youtube thread. The words are dying!

Edit: Bright side of Marpessa. She's like..the BT's equivalent of the Jerry Springer show. Her purpose is to remind the BT that their lives could be much worse.

Some guilds do incorporate things about history and mentality of the guild into their tasks - this is a roleplaying world, not just hunting and having teh l337 skillz in teh combatz. (Yes, I butchered that)

theres more to roleplaying then hunting and having 1337 skillz?

I wonder if that skill that gives you a timed demesne for power counts.

That's the regrowth skill I think, 8p or something. The reason why people prefer trigger timed demesnes is because the effects last (considerably?) shorter with regrowth.

People look scared at Hemlock because they don't want to/don't think they can learn to fight. Except it can be passed with a timed demesne script - you can write one even in nexus - and diagnose.

I get confused when fighting. The text flies by too fast for both myself to read, and for my computer to comprehend properly so I can read it! I mean...if Xavius tried teaching me how to fight he'd probably want to strangle me within 10 secs of trying to explain/show me to how to stuff. Trust me, I've tried doing PvP in Lusty/Impy does not work with me.

So cast it twice?

(I believe that change went through... hm)

I don't remember anything like that. What do you think that would do?

I have never been a fan of tests because I came from Achaea, where some Guilds make you take a test to be able to take another test before you can advance past Adept in your skillset.

I actually got my start MUDding in Achaea and was a Runewarden. I had to take three tests to graduate novicehood...and I thought that was the standard! When someone else told me, "I only had to show them some vials," I about had a conniption. My character was 22 at novicehood graduation because I was so new to the game that learning all the stuff gave me a headache everytime I logged in...

It didn't. Not that I mind. That's just lazy.

Timing a demesne is only scary if the game is lagging server-side. Otherwise, count to ten. It's an essential druidic skill anyways.

I'm pretty sure we submitted it, though I did argue against it a bit. I sometimes have trouble remembering what's accepted between submission and final Admin culling.

Anyways, Shiri, the idea was that any effect that's already up when it's cast again gets extended to the maximum time.

Marpessa ain't so bad for a Gladheon. She did die to an ooze which made feel bad for her.

Runewardens were easy. I had a 34-year-old Occultist novice.

It did go through, but I always assumed that effects with the instant timed skill had a lower maximum, so I never tried just casting it twice in a row. I only used the change if I had set up a bunch of effects, and they were about to die mid-fight.
