i really wanted to use some of the lesser used weapons in the game and here was my idea for a new skill set
-flame at will-

Mainkitar – or other –Master skill set name-
1.raze thrust (razes shield with dagger balance and delivers a powerful spear attack)
2.double dagger swing (allows a dagger to stab twice on dagger balance dealing no damage put with increased speed-for poisons-)
3. spear sweep (knocks enemy to the ground requires spear balance)
4. Short Range stance ( Increases dagger damage and speed.: Lowers defense. Decreases
5.drop stab (dagger lunges down stabbing prone enemy in the chest.)
6. Butt slam (slams the butt of the spear against a prone enemies head. Causing massive head wounds)
7.Arm Artery (dagger attack)
8 Leg artery (dagger attack)
9.Puncture lung (spear attack)
10. Eye gouge (spear attack, causes lower accuracy and blindness on the 2nd hit)
11. Open gut (dagger attack)
12 Puncture chest (spear attack)
13. Puncture gut (spear attack)
14. Ground Impale (Impale target on the ground)
15. Rend
16.Sever Nerve (dagger attack)
17 Double Pierce (two jabs with the spear on a targeted limb)
18 Hilt slam (smash the enemies foot making balancing take longer)
19 Riposte (dagger hit)
20 Spear twirl (blocks next normal attack. Cancels if action used –ie much like shield but only once- 1p )
21.Lateral slash (dagger attack) (hits gut chest head – passes though shield 3p) (requires short range stance)
22. Vertical slash (dagger attack) hits left arm chest right arm 3p) (requires srange stance)
23. Cross slash (dagger attack) hits gut chest head left arm right arm 7p) (requires srange stance)
24. Heart thrust (spear attack instant kills if chest wound is heavy)
25 Brain pierce (spear attack instant kills if head wounds are heavy.)
26 Tri spear (Spear attack hits 3 random limbs 7p)




Jabbing is Spear only
and Swinging is dagger

Jabbing would be to cause the major wounds
required for most of the dagger afflictions to work
thus it would probably be done jab swing altho no restrictions..
the bonus attack styles like tri spear and cross slash etc. would take up both arm balances, and such.

I thought it was a good idea and i liked the skills not thinking they are to powerful and such. and based good with power costs etc.

Pinleg (jab legs with spear) heavy
Riposte (dagger hits on parry?)
Spear twirl (blocks next attack. Cancels if you move or attack with spear 1p )
Heart thrust (jab chest with spear or dagger) critical
Brain pierce (jab head with spear) critical
Tri spear (Spear attack hits 3 random limbs 7p)

the thing is i kind of wanted it more like you use the spear/javealn etc to cause the wounding levels then the dagger hits with the affliction

-edit- and that looks way to much like bm skillset.

Hrm.

I like the idea, but instead of the spear doing the heavy wounding only, how about make it only do the jabbing afflictions, as in you can only jab with it, and slash with the knife.

Of course, you also have to bridge the gap between two different range weapons. So you'd have to have some sort of spear stance, where you'd switch from longrange to short range.

Like, normally you can only use the spear or dagger in swoop. But, if you forgo doing afflictions with the spear or dagger, you can flow into a different stance and continue on to use the opposite weapon. Because of this, you could make the dagger do incredible deepwound afflictions, but horrible wounding rates. But, to switch mid-attack requires a little bit slower balance regain. In order to counter this, you can either make it so that the dagger can't raze (but you'd give the spear a double raze, cleave-esqe raze but no damage), or that it requires them to be hit by the spear first.

Unfortunately, while I like the idea (and would love to see it implemented in a similar fashion to mine and your's, krin), I don't want another specialization out anytime soon, if ever, because A) the warrior specs don't get enough attention, seeing as there are four of them, and B) I'd rather see the other classes balanced first (even though Axelord needs a bit of tuning).

Yeah, I've wanted something like this for a while, but we do already have four specializations... I'd love either one with the daggers, or the fighting style where you've got a dagger and a shortsword.

I'd just get rid of the Daggers thing already. They're used now by Telekinetics, so I say that gives Daggers a use.

I agree with having only 4 spec's. for right now, though. If we were to have a Spear/Polearm spec., call it Lancing. That'd be cool...

Shofangi use knives...of a sort, and the Celestines monks are apparently getting two-handed staffs (or is that staves?) though they don't have blades like a spear.
