Why?
So he can dreamgank them. Duh.
I want... oh I don't know... an artifact (or skill even... Scouting!) that halves willpower loss but induces extra loss while under attack, usable only while in dreamform. Or how about special scabbards/frogges that hold multiple weapons in themselves? OOOOOH! Artie frogges/scabbards that halve decay time 'cause they're so well built, yada yada, and protect the weapon especially well. Mmm I'd like that.
And the Stick of Fixing Forging: Lets you rearrange the total stats on any weapon in your posession while at a lit forge, min/max rules still apply.
Pendant of Silencing: Triples endurance costs for all shouts in the local area.
Belt of partial Corporeality: TOUCH BELT: Allows a dreamweaver to use herbs, potions, salves, whatevah for 10 seconds while in dreamform.
Sense Scrambler: POINT SCRAMBLER AT
Something equivalent to nukes for aetherspace, and then the corresponding radiological alarms (yes I am watching BSG while posting on the forums). Nukes take 2 minutes to arm, and while they are arming, may be detected by alarms. Deal excrementloads of module and hull damage (probably % based). Can also nuke a dock to damage all ships there and disable all aetherpods for n minutes. Oh, and make new pods spawn once every minute or so, with a given max number of pods. Bwaha.
A Diamonut of Unity: Allows access to basic grid and turret functions from the command chair (target, fire, repair, module list)
The Crossbow of Mouse. When fired, causes the target to instantly shout "ALL HAIL SIR MOUSE!" and then heartstop, suffering 100x EXP loss and giving the firer the exp they lost. Just because. Yes this one is a joke.
EDIT IDEA!!!!!! A personal sparring ring! Works sorta like an arena, in that you can hold spars in the designated manse room. If someone dies in said room, they don't die die, but instead get kicked out to the next room over. Also, herbs, potions, ring charges, whatev aren't consumed inside, but everything activated inside vanishes upon leaving the room (to prevent abuse). Tervic's always wanted to have a place to demonstrate moves on little ones without traumatizing them too much or subjecting them to the horrors of the arena.

I am not sure if this would be an approriate artifact, but I always loved the way milestones worked for bardic travel.
My idea would be a permanent milestone that you can imbue into the ground in some locale. I was thinking that it either would be unable to be removed, or it would be able to do so at tremendous cost to the bard.

Hell, make it open to everyone, not just bards. I'd take one!

Why?
Well, I wanted a way to send dreams to other people... and I couldn't think of an appropriate side-benefit. So I thought letting the person wander around incorporeally for a few minutes would be fun.
Alright, just the dreams then.

As much as alot of the aetherspace artifacts came form this topic...
They cant be COMBAT related... nukes, battle pods, etc... all tend to fall under combat. As does something that gives damage reductions, as you certainly dont need reductions to influence (non combat combat).
Carry on.

Check out Artisan's transcendant skill Prized. Beats milestones too since it's cross-planar.

Crush my dreams then... I like nukes...
How about a musicbox? Sings like a bard song (with no effects) and you can leave it somewhere and let it play, most likely to the annoyance of many other people.

I already suggested that, Mouse. Stop stealing my ideas.

No you didn't, you idea thief. Bake me a pie. Or I'll nuke you and your little dog too.
I want an artifact pie that I can smoosh into people's (like Arel) faces. Preferably of the keylime flavour.
Perhaps also something that would allow me to be in two places at once. I think that should be a guild/city/commune leader power, too, being in multiple places at once.

An artifact that increases rift size so more herbs/tints/comms can be stored inside.
Krellan2007-08-08 00:53:19
ooh I like, cause I just realized I'm gonna need an absurd amount of pocket belts for the 1 million sparkles I'm gathering to rival all the divine who think it's funny to drop a group of 1 million sparkleberries in front of us and make it so we can't grab them!
Veonira2007-08-08 00:58:24
I like the idea of prime housing as well. Mmmm

I thought they changed it so it was either same-continent, or same-plane. I just remember people whining about how it was worthless now because they couldn't return to their aethership if they got stranded on bubbles.
Saran2007-08-08 05:03:38
Prized is delayed return to a piece of furniture you have constructed, it also removes decay time.
It will only work if you use it from the planes or prime to a piece of furniture on the planes or prime or a manse docked at prime. It was really useful originally because you could just dock your ship somewhere and if you died it was just 5 power to get back to your ship, now it's handy for its secondary effect but the teleport ability is kinda meh esp for serens and gloms with the altars up

Ah, hadn't heard about the nerfing. That's a trans skill? Sheesh, that so doesn't compare to a philosopher's stone or splendour robes. Even before the nerf it didn't seem on a par with the others.

Another one:
Alchemy/Enchanting
- Funnelstone: Functions exactly as a powerstone, but can be recharged from reserves or other powerstones at a 10% loss. Unable to draw power from the funnelstone.

Mothership upgrades (Yes, I'm looking at you, Deepnight)
Aetherships smaller than 3 may dock as fighters if a ship has the mothership upgrade. To be eligible for carrier upgrade, ship must be... effing huge. Like Deepnight size, or maybe even bigger. Upon launching, the "fighters" are automatically set to be in the larger ship's armada. Further upgrades may be purchased to add more turrets (limit of 3 turrets for something that huge seems kinda silly), but I'm just tagging that COMBAT RELATED idea because I operate at stream of consciousness.
Now, before y'all jump on the docking idea as being combat related as well, consider the Armada ability, which already exists, to form ships into groups. Allowing tiny ones to dock with an effing huge one isn't all that different from stuffing them into the same armada, which is also the ultimate effect for when they launch. The idea here is that it'd be fun to DOCK at a huge ship like Deepnight to shift crew around, or even just have the city chill out in the aetherways and people use "shuttles" to get to it, like a giant space-station thingy. The possibilites would be endless.

That'd be neat to have ships over 100 rooms be able to function as docks, and have impenetrable shields, but while they're up, you can't move or launch anything.
Also, an artifact to remove power loss when transferring between players, or from a collector to a player. I mean, 50% loss? Holycrap ow.

Not exactly non-combat if you count defensive, but still - I'd like to be able to turn normal clothes into protected ones with greatrobes stats and elemental protection capacity.
Unreal, I know.
