A slot-machine. One handed bandit.
The owner can place it in any location and noone else can move it.
The owner can set the win percentage, from always losing to always winning.
The owner can just put money inside it, or take money from it.
Others can put money in it, and they will play with that amount, and then they should pull the lever which reduces some of that amount or adds to it.
By pressing a button the money will be dropped on the ground or in a slot on the front of the machine.
When the machine has no more money it will stop to play. So the owner will have to put money into the machine at the start.
Basically it is a device to allow gambling for in a manse or wherever else.

An artifact to allow you to use the dramatics skill to impersonate a living, non player, thing without anyone seeing through the illusion. Great for RP! I will bring Simba to life more often!

An artifact I would like is a real privacy gem (the one now appereantly is to stop gods from listening in on you from afar) that would stop you from being scried/tierstoned/farscouted in that room. I do not think it would have any value on terms of combat but it would be great if I could have secret meetings without every celestine and their pet dog knowing about it.
Furien2007-08-21 08:20:34
Bumping, yay.
A living gem- spawns a group of 5 gems (maybe more) of the same type every month.
A bucket of swirling colours- lets you reach into the bucket and pull out a random tint colour. Can be reached into 5 times before it needs to refill. The bucket refills every few days.

Seems like the whole purpose of that would to be to hide from people looking for you and I cant see people looking for you for a game of chess or something. I would mark that as combat related because it allows you to avoid being seen when people are looking (usually before raids or jumpings).

It would only work in a manse, manses can be made impenetrable already so what is the point in terms of jumping to be able to scry someone in a manse? as to raids, it could give a message in the lines of "your vision is obscured by a powerful spell" or something to show they they are in the realms. But how can you really have an rp where you talk to people in secret when any novice can find you?

An artifact that locates items like the hunting skill.
Same limitations that the dog have.

Artifact name: A coin of the Charities
An artifact that lets you add +2 slots to your public design and private design submissions. Would probably only be for cartel owners only.
Syntax:
Rub Coin
Destroys the artifact at use.

They should sell these for 250cr just to see if anyone would buy one instead of just getting a second cartel.

A small thing, but... It's Charites, not Charities.
Here's my contribution! It's (largely) for those who find themselves too old to be adopted by the family of their dreams, or too young to adopt the children they'd love to have, but it could easily serve other purposes, as well.
Glass of Ages
Appearance: an austere iron hourglass
Dropped: An austere hourglass of polished black iron silently marks the passage of time here.
Examined: Supported by three slender pillars of gleaming black iron and capped at either end by flat, circular discs fashioned of the same material, this hourglass is rather simple and unremarkable in design. Two clear glass reservoirs stand imprisoned by the cold, dark metal, joined in the centre of the timepiece by an exceedingly narrow channel through which a supply of glittering white sand flows.
Syntax: TURN HOURGLASS FORWARD <1-10>or TURN HOURGLASS BACK <1-10>.
Effect: Causes the owner to grow older or younger, adding or subtracting a given number of years from their age. It would not allow anyone's age to drop below 16. Destroyed upon being used successfully.
When used successfully:
-Owner's perspective: As you turn the hourglass, you feel briefly disoriented as your vision fades to an endless void of glittering white. The inexorable pull of time on your physical form is suspended for only a moment, and in that instant you make your choice. The world around you reappears abruptly, your return to full awareness accompanied by the sound of shattering glass as the escaped sands swirl once about you and vanish.
-Witness's perspective: As (Name) turns the hourglass, (he/she) blinks dazedly at the sudden explosion of metal and glass as the escaped sands swirl once about (him/her) and vanish, leaving (him/her) forever altered by the flow of time.
When used unsuccessfully (if the artifact would cause the owner to drop below 16 years, if the number specified is less than 1 or greater than 10, or if a number isn't specified at all):
-Owner's perspective: As you turn the hourglass, the sands swirl wildly within, and you feel a moment's disorientation as the flow of time around you resists the power of the artifact.
-Witness's perspective: As (Name) turns the hourglass, the sands swirl wildly within and (he/she) sways unsteadily for a moment but is otherwise unchanged.

Quill of Anonymity.
Allows you to write anonymous news posts and any books or scrolls. If you wield it before entering news or writing a book/scroll, your name will be seen as anonymous. Like Backgrounds, Estarra and Roark can know your identity but others (including lower Gods) will not know. Great for starting a gossip column or posting a manifesto.
Ethereal Fulcrux Gem.
Allows you to create a special "pocket realm" on the Ethereal Plane. This is an isolated 1 room realm you can retreat to. It is similar to a manse but different in the following ways.
1) It exists on the Ethereal Plane, like Isune's Glade, Faethorn and the Catacombs. Thus, unless you monolith sigil the room people can teleport to it, and people can see you on the who list (unless you have a gem of cloaking)
2) There is no portal to this realm. The owner alone gains the ability to ETHERGLIDE to his pocket realm, and anybody who follows him.
3) You can choose to create an environment appropriate to the Ethereal. The admin can decide what types are appropriate, thought I doubt "urban" will be allowed. (I could see ethereal desert, ethereal constructed underground, etc.). This may have advantages depending on your race, of course. You can also demense it.
4) This behaves just like the ethereal plane. Thus, if anyone dies there, you don't have Avenger protection but you can conglutinate if you have Trans Planar. You can also gateweave to prime or an elemental plane.
5) You can't use manse artifacts since it's not a manse. I don't think you can make furniture in outdoor environments (although I think there are benches).

Noooo don't make it break.
How about something like this:
Silver Cord of Familial Paradox:
Lets you, the player, dictate a familial relationship outside the "normal" regulations of the family system. Example: Allowing two characters to be siblings even if one is already married.
Simimi2007-08-29 02:03:01
Or we could just, improve upon the current family tree system to actually BE a tree... with cousins and step relatives, etc etc.
