Not sure where I should be asking this, but I'd like an answer so I can stop people from metagaming me about my changelingness and still not have something ugly.
My issue is that cameos are ugly so it's hard to get a good customised design for one, but HELP CUSTOMISATION says you can't "change the nature of an object." What I want to know is if I could get away with having it be an amulet or something. Is that rule more to make it so the admin don't have to change the actual noun of the object ("cameo210534") or to prevent people from turning shoes into -completely- different things like shields? If it's the latter, I think I could away with having something less ugly, but if not, I'm going to have to settle for a "Best I could do" design a friend made me () so I'd like to find out before I send the email to artifacts.

You can't change the cameo210534 thing. (That's the "basic nature," I believe)

Damnit. Ugly "best I can do" design it is. :(
Morgfyre2007-08-02 02:48:35
The reason for that rule is that objects can only be interacted with through certain pre-defined words ("cameo" in this case) that are shared by all instances of a parent object, and so it wouldn't make any sense if you had an "amulet" that could only be interacted with by the word "cameo".
Shiri2007-08-02 02:54:38
I understand that. I just hoped I could get something less ugly. Not blaming anyone.
Viravain2007-08-02 03:01:06
Not all cameos are ugly! Take a look at this one!
Shiri2007-08-02 03:22:45
...what?
Arel2007-08-02 03:36:12
Shiri's mind has been blown by Viravain, Lady of the Thorns. You see the death occur at Customisation.

Clicking that link magically teased my hair out a foot. Please stop...the pain.
Lenalith2007-08-02 10:18:52
What DO they look like?
Viravain2007-08-02 10:38:16
I, being the old and wrinkly person that I am, remembered this little band from the 80s called Cameo and their rather plastic look. They had this little hit called "Word Up" that was later redone by Korn, much to my amusement. Hearing Shiri say that the Cameos are ugly just ended up giving me a fit of giggles and I had to share their image with everyone as proof positive that not all Cameos are ugly.

Alas, I only know them from DDR.
Gaetele2007-08-02 11:35:00
Hmm... interesting. What song did they do - I'm not familiar with them from DDR.
And I play a lot of DDR.

Cameo did Word Up on DDR, as Viravain posted.

Candy was sampled for Mariah Carey's first single from Glitter (at least if I remember correctly).
Actually, I think Gorky should make an appearance and get all the female fae in the Serenwilde to dance around him signing "Candy".
