It won't be long until the 3rd Year Anniversary will be here.
I suspect we'll get a plot or something. The 1st year had Isune coming back, the 2nd Year I suspect was supposed to be Viravain changing but that got side-railed due to some miscalculations.
However, I was wondering. Rather than just have the gods have all the fun, perhaps we should consider having some sort of carnival or circus atmosphere. Maybe a fairground or something could be created for the celebrations--maybe some gnomes come down and set something up, or some of the villages temporarily go neutral and decide to host celebrations. I've heard of other muds doing this, I wonder if it would fit in with Lusternia.
I'd like to see a fairgrounds or something similar show up in general anyway. Here are some ideas.
* Side-show--Showcasing stuff that may show up in the future: Creatures from an unknown aetherbubble, the last remaining artifacts from Hallifax, the lost Illuminati member, creatures from beyond the basin.
* Divine Theatre Production--Maybe before a new Elder Wars book is released, a play authored by the Divine is shown, giving them the satisfaction of showing it to a bunch of people at once, and keep it "in game" rather than discussing it on the Forums first.
* Mini-quests, feats of strength or endurance. Maybe you get sort of a prize if you can finish the game. For instance, a kissing booth where you have to use a seduction influence to get a kiss, or a boxing booth where you have to knock out the boxing master via punching only, or a fun house or "corn maze" you need to navigate through.

Lusternia doesn't need any more minigames. If we're going to have an event for the third anniversary, let's have an actual event. God knows we have too few of them.

Regardless of whether there's a "real event" or not, there will also be the celebrations we see. So I'm trying to think of ways to make it more "in game". Last year they actually shut down the Avatar/Guardians quests during that weekend--and I remember they had to yell at a couple of people who were attacking the Elemental Lords just before an Aetherspace contest. I suspect Nexus World conflicts will be turned off as well that weekend--and maybe if they can figure out how to shut off Village Influencing).
So I'm trying to think of ideas that would be fun for the player base. And I wasn't thinking of permanent large mini-games like fighting either. Just something that might contribute to a carnival atmosphere.
