One of the biggest problems I have with it is that it's rescindable. You can achieve Great House, get all these benefits, then have them taken away because you drop below 50 members. 50 is a TON of people, and I'm far from sure anyone who achieved it would keep it for long. Just buying a clan is easier and much more stable.

I wonder why the number is set so high. 25-30 sounds like a lot of people already.
Even if Lusternia reached a point where there would be a few Great Houses in each community... what's wrong with that?
Or, why not make Minor Houses with half the minimum number and half of the benefits.

If would be nice if the number were lower and then you could "buy" upgrades:

X amount of Gold and Comms = Construction of a family home area, not a manse but an actual location on prime.
Written family history(+/- Home) = A mobile in your home that hands out family heirlooms
X amount of essence collected in a special container = Construct for home (defensive or something)

etc. It's probably unlikely for a variety of reasons, but it would be cool to see
