in a long long time start thinking of a new kata form thats basicly Judo, grappling would be fun i think. make it kind of like what tracking is to worriors something rouges can do with out needing a guild/city. just not sucky. ideas?
Furien2007-08-13 06:48:56
The game, again, isn't for rogues. All of the monk skills are pretty rogue-capable, since they have 1 or 2 power-costing attacks. PsyMet power skills are generic.
Otherwise, a spec focusing on grapples isn't going anywhere. You'll be able to writhe out before they can do anything worthwhile.

i REALLY hate that kind of idealism. not to go overboard crazy, rouges won't kill the game, and that as an argument is really annoying.
Sorry, nothing personal.
but on the other writhing fact. maybe make it limb only. new syntax writhe left leg. some such so that an enemy isn't compeltly messed over the whole fight. and it might work something like taking over two limbs enemy can only writhe one at a time so they have to decide broken arm or broken leg?

It's no argument the game is not for rogues.. It's a fact
And they don't writhe each limb, if they writhe, they free themselves of any grapple

Lusternia where everyone can be rogues without any consequences is just a smaller version of Achaea. Go play that if it bothers you so much that rogues are frowned upon here.

you can already be a rouge with out consequence.
warrior trapper with powerplex wildenodes etc

you can't use skills with your dog, which is one of the main feats for a Tracker.
Also you can be mistrusted by everyone. That's a big consequence.
All in all, don't be a rogue. Not convenient and you should better stick to a guild, or at least a city.

Yes, because everyone has a powerplex.
Also, without consequence includes not being limited to a certain class played in a certain way.

Rofl.
Krin: You spelt rogue like 'rouge', which is red in other language(s).
Unknown2007-08-13 08:20:40
really, huh never knew that honestly always thought it was spelled rouge.. ohwell lesson learned
Drathys2007-08-13 10:34:31
Yeah it's just something that annoys me. Probably from seeing it too many times in WoW.

The game wasn't designed so that rogues could be everywhere. They generally go against the game's point of conflict. It's like any neutral commune/city idea. They may be awesome, but it won't work because they are neutral.
Aside from the fact that most Guilds enemy you if you quit city/commune and guild, and keep the skillset. It's not quite so bad for warriors/monks/bards, but guardians/mages/wiccan/druid it destroys some of their offence.
As Furien said, though, the Monk skillset is the easiest to go rogue at already, due to there only being a few feats, and psymet being generic.
Also, rika brought up a point. I'm not one to completely neuter RP, but some classes you *have* to play a certain way.
