I'm collecting information on the creditmarket for sorting and analysis. My goals are, at least in part, to discover patterns in the creditmarket, learn of any outside variables etc. that affect the market's price, and to find the average price of credits based on time-of-day, day-of-week and suchforth. The results would be publicly avaliable after I get enough data to release them.
If you're interested in helping out, please just copy-paste the credits-for-sale report into a message or letter to me whenever you happen to glance at it. Please include the date and time in GMT.
Example:
(6:51am 8/13/07)
Credits currently available for purchase:
143 credits at 5050 gold per credit.
14 credits at 5075 gold per credit.
148 credits at 5100 gold per credit.
10 credits at 5200 gold per credit.
32 credits at 5300 gold per credit.
62 credits at 5399 gold per credit.
56 credits at 5400 gold per credit.
173 credits at 5448 gold per credit.

Total credits for sale: 717 shown (747 total) (Average sale price: 5031)

(And no. This is not so that I or anyone else can figure out when to 'buy low sell high' and whore out the credit market for 'h4x profitz'. This is honest curiosity. Please do help if you're able.)

I'll put it bluntly Credits will be sold low when they want to sell it fast. It will always be put under the lowest current credits but if somebody were to buy up to another 100 then the next person up would put it under that one making it relatively more expensive.

I really doubt there are many patterns to credit market prices that are dependant on any time factor, other than perhaps A. Credit sales, and B. New skills/arties calling for more credits.

There's probably more buying going on, at slightly higher prices, when there's a peak playerbase on. Then the supply and demand goes down during offpeak hours. I imagine you'd see a small fluctuation, but you'll have to track it for a couple of months to get any good data.
Also, the credit sale might cause you troubles.

I know, that's why I want to collect a large bit of data. People are saying conflicting things- in one topic it's "Credit sales raise credit prices" and in another it's "Credit sales lower credit prices". The latter seems more logical, but if it's the opposite then that's definitely something I'd like to find out about.

I think you'd just about need real-time monitoring to get an accurate all-round indication of market activity. There's lots of very quick sales. Even if they don't influence market price significantly, they say something about demand.

Unfortunately, I asked about that already. I'm not allowed to create a system that keeps me online and logs the credit market automatically. That's why I need everyone to help out. It won't be perfect, but if everyone sends in reports whenever they check the market then that'll help a lot.

Yea this is one for me that I really cant follow, I'd say the credit market jumps on payday when people get paid it's not like gambling where you can try and guess the odds.... *chin* But I dunno, I guess anything is worth a try eh?
Ghaloaire2007-08-13 09:48:32
Heh, good point. I'll add that one on to the list.

Also, the credit sale might cause you troubles.
It is the exact opposite.
Credit prices are the lowest when many people are around, and highest when there are few people around.

Actually, I've seen both. I go on at odd hours, and I've seen both high and low prices that seem independant of the players online. I'm also wondering if the onset of the weekend days or evening hours has anything to do with the price. Anyone have ideas?
Oh, and as always please send me reports whenever you happen to check.

I have found the lowest prices to be on weds days at peak times.
But thats just me.
Highest prices I find tend to be on Sat. Nights and Sundays when nobody is around.
My theory for this is that on Sat Nights, all the cheap credits have been bought already, and on Wedsdays at Peak time, people want gold fast for projects, but people already spent their gold on things earlier.

You can't track the market, you just have to understand the ins and outs.
Ghaloaire2007-08-18 23:58:24
I'm still looking for reports; please message them to me whenever you can.
