I'm not sure if a Thread like this has been posted ever, but I'm still curious as to who you all pick. I'll share mine.
NOTE: Not in order of favourates, just in the order in which they came to me.
1) Darth Vader - Master Sith of the Dark Side, he's got a cool costume, and let's face it, he sounds cool! Darth Vader captured my imagination when I first saw Star Wars: A New Hope. He is a total badass, though he died in a pretty stupid way, IMHO. (He shoulda kept his mask on!)
2) Sephiroth - I'm a sucker for Square Enix stuff. Sephiroth has been a favourate character of mine for a LONG time, ever since I first saw him in FFVII. I also love him back in the two Kingdom Hearts games, even though he really didn't effect the story line at all. My only gripe about him in Kingdom Hearts is that, I swear to God, his sword extends it's length to hit me! I was on the other side of the arena, he swung his sword, and BAM! I nearly died! Anyway... He's probably got the coolest (IMHO) background music EVER! It's been a staple on my playlist for a long time, and no, I'm not kidding.
3) Voldemort - Ahh, Voldemort... You evil, twisted necrophobe you... Yes, Voldemort. Like most kids, I fell in love with the Harry Potter series, and Voldemort being one of the most badass people in that series, he's earned himself a good spot on my list. Also, as a side note, in the 5th movie, his fight with Dumbledore was (again, IMHO) EPIC! Don't care if you didn't like it. I did.

Edea, from FFVII - mostly
...and Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty. There, I said it.
because she's not really bad.

Edea was from FF VIII though.
My favourite villain? Probably Admiral Thrawn. An embodiement of strategical and tactical genious, and a great connoisseur of art. These two are related, of course.
As for jRPG characters.... Kefka, submariner!

Of course, SHODAN!
Also, Noein and maybe Ano Otoko.

Queen Jadis from The Magician's Nephew (CS Lewis, Chronicles of Narnia). She was pretty badass.

That Man is a villain? He destroyed Japan using gears, but seems to be remorseful of that, and his actions in the current GG storyline are far more benevolent.
Unless you're talking about a different That Guy, but Wikipedia would never lie to me. Right, Wikipedia? ...
Wikipedia!!
How could I forget about SHODAN? So creepy...
Welcome to my DEATHMACHINE!
I still like Thrawn more though.

OHH! One more for me, I swear.
Slade from Teen Titans. He was amazing looking, mysterious, and his evil deeds were strange and cool. Plus, when he sold his soul to Raven's dad (Forget the immortal dude's name) he had the powers to control fire. That's pretty badass!
EDIT: OHH! The Immortal's name was Skath or Scath, whichever...

Yes. Yes she was. Typo.
Edit: Queen Jadis r0xx0rz my s0xx0rz. Love the concept of the Deplorable Word.

I think he's still set up as a "villain". It does depend on your definition, but most of the characters seem to be hunting for him and his (misguided) crony keeps getting in the way. And yes, he destroyed Japan during the gears. Anyway, I think he's pretty cool.

That's a damn good question. *narrow*

Ichimaru Gin,
Seifer,
Lobo.
All I can come up with atm, bad guys department is lacking staff somewhat. I'm quite sure I'm forgetting some though.

Ichimaru Gin,
*gasp* Ichimaru Gin is a villain? But he's such an upbeat fellah... always smiling, sharing his cheerful mood around and constantly joking with everyone - even death convicts, hoping to ease their pain with a funny anegdote.

Yeah, he's the coolest... villain. I guess. "Bye bye "
Also, one more. "I. Am. MEGATRON!"
Not really that cool, but worth mentioning.

No, no Fuyu no Hanabi FTW!
Unknown2007-08-15 01:53:50
Poor Gin, I'm pretty sure Kuchiki "Hobbit" Rukia's reaction to his joke really ruined his mood.

I know, that's the best one. But he doesn't go "bai-bai!" in it.
