Wait.. I know there are the books but there's not a movie or something is there?!
@Ashteru
@Ashteru
Actually yeah they are making into a series. One season for each book. HBO have the rights and planning on filming it in Europe or New Zealand. Not sure of current progress though
strryx2007-08-30 08:30:32
oh and my bad guys, for various reasons:
Sephiroth
Slade
Most villians played by Gary Oldman
Angus Thermopyle from Stephen Donaldsons the Gap series (some sick twisted books right there)
And my favourite batman villians are the Joker and the Riddler for his traps.

I want to add my 2 cents...
Gabranth (I really really loved his speeches in FF12), Yunaleska (what she said was believable) and Turks.
Byakuya and Aizen from Bleach were awesome too (Hopefully thats not a spolier to some).

Keyser Soze - "The Usual Suspects"

Keyser Soze - "The Usual Suspects"
Yes, absolutely!
I wish I could think of more favorite villains, but unfortunately, when they reach "favorite" status, I start rooting for them and they start to seem more sympathetic and interesting than the good guys in the story. At that point, I think of them as the protagonists, rather than the other way around.
Lysandus2007-08-30 16:54:45
Ooooh, forgot about Keyzer Soze, and damn I was shocked when the twist hit me in the end... I was like, WTF?!?
Furien2007-08-31 07:11:06
Kreia. Hands down.
Jack2007-09-01 02:13:15
Nihilus was far more badass than Kreia. Even Mr Flaky Skin beat her out, really.
Furien2007-09-01 04:56:43
Well, the battle between Visas and the Exile vs. Nihilus was pretty cool (screw Mandalore), but Nihilus doesn't make too much of an appearance in the game to make me think he's badass. Admittedly, his, uh, speech was creepy as hell.
Kreia's concept, actions, and ways of mocking people were awesome, though.

#1. Kefka, FFVI. I usually like my villains deep and emotionally conflicted, but Kefka is the sole exception. His concept (evil just because he's evil & insane) is something I'd normally ridicule in a villain, but it just turns out so great you can't not-love/not-hate him.
#2. Asakura Hao, Shaman King. Extremely overpowered Shaman (though his power is perfectly explainable - you try reincarnating three times, each time bashing up to Demigod basically from scratch... and then getting your own personal PwnageSpirit pet...) who fights for a very just and relatable cause. Only bad thing is he wants to kill all humans. But it's for the greater good!
#3. Sephiroth, FFVII. Yes, he owns all. He is the coolest. End of otherwise long story.
*ponders if patricide, genocide and freakishly cool blue hair beat town-icide, Aeris-cide and cool long silver hair*... Hmm hmm... Seymour oh Seymour.

Clise, she is definately the most evil person I know, she even has her own cult now, though only a select few people would know why I'm saying this.

if you're going to go by world destroying capability... how about some love for majin buu?
clive owen's character in "inside man"... good movie all around and played the "good" bad guy
now, back into my favorites... the westerns... james coburn in "the last hard men". (i like coburn because he's kinda "awkward" in a realistic way) as is expected he goes out of his way to antagonize heston's character and ends up ruining his own freedom. the obligatory bad guy plot!
a successful bad guy plot? *chin*... *ponder*... *consider* well! i shall leave you with a story left untold to this day. "butch cassidy and the sundance kid". -amazing- actors in an -amazing- movie. it's kinda hard -not- to relate to at least one of them in the movie all the way through, and yet they're robbing people nonstop and you're pulling for them

Watch out, it's the Post Criticiser!
Byakuya was never a villain.
Nor was Dark Knight Cecil. He was still good, only less than Paladin Cecil.
I never liked Sephiroth. Badass my ass. Most evil things you think he has done, it was actually Jenova (YES, including slaying the old president of Shinra and Aeris) - sure, Sephiroth-controlled Jenova, but great villains do their deeds themselves. The only massively evil thing Sephiroth has done was to destroy Nibelheim.
Also, he popularised the white-haired prettyboy as a badguy, which is very annoying. He's not even a prettyboy himself, he was ~30 when he became crazy!

Albedo from Xenosaga, not sure how many have played it but he's friggin crazey.
I can't believe I forgot about him. He was the first villain from a video game that actually made me -hate- him. I wanted to take Ziggy and rip him apart.
*cough*
Yeah, he's a good bad guy.
Unknown2007-09-02 13:46:54

He was an antagonist, but not a villain. Show me one evil thing he did that didn't come from him
sticking to the law and rules a bit too much to be considered healthy
