I was just wondering when exactly it will be scheduled at. I'm guessing it will be around afternoon for people in the USA again but that also means it will be midnight and afterwards for anyone in Europe. Since it is officially scheduled to be on sunday that means it'll likely push over to early monday morning and if you'd have to work that can be a big issue.
So.. my question is, is there -any- chance at all (and interest from the playerbase) that this event was moved to saturday evening / afternoon instead please? That way it wouldn't matter if it took place in the early morning hours for some as they could sleep in on sunday (at least those with normal working hours heh).

Yes, please change it to a more moderate time, I'm sure all the other Australians or people in nearby timezones adore having to get up at ungodly times to be able to participate.

What I personally found most interesting is the reduction of the teams from the originally announced 3 each to 2 each. Out of curiosity, why was that?

The time of running will be roughly between 1pm till it ends. That would be 1pm my time. Which is about 19:00 GMT.
While I realize that there may be time conflicts with players, one thing players have to realize is there is also time conflicts with Admins. We run events when we are available to do so, and I don't live in Europe so my time for events is not going to generally fall into that timezone.
EDIT:: AS to the team size, that was a mistake on my part. Teams will be 3 man, or for the politically correct '3 person'.

I get shafted reguarly because the scheduled time of most lusti events turns out to be my 6am. 6am is like, witching hour cause i get tired as by 5am and can't keep up, but i'll be buggered if i'm going to wake up at 6am.
