I just bought Gears of war, wondering if you can do multiplayer online like you can in halo one and such. I played the xbox version ,it's fun , a lot more fun than halo.

I'm not too much into Halo or Gears of War online play. I'll gladly play Crackdown with any of you, though! My handle's Larkinator. I loaned out my Crackdown disc for a while, though, and I don't plan to ask for it back until I get my Elite migration kit in the mail.

used to paly halo one, lost the cd and got into Xenosaga at the time , loving the series.

Gears is a darn fine game.

I love how well the flanking AI is on it. Stay put for a few seconds and you're toast.

I -finally- beat the campaign on uberinsane with a friend, and about 3 days of nothing to do after finals but before the Uni evicted everyone from the dorms. GAWD ITS HARD.

Multiplayer's boring because I've got such better aim than all the other people I play with Nor can I go to LaserQuest, which is like a real-life FPS. I have like... half the accuracy but I had 2k shots compared to most other people's measly 4 or 500. nom nom spray. Accuracy ftl when everyone is a target.

I liked the campaign mode much better than multiplayer. The problem with multiplayer (at least ranked games) is that the only way to get the achievements is to win the race to the special weapons spawn, which is retarded. They should have put more special weapon spawns in the multiplayer maps so that almost everyone can get something interesting for getting achievements. All anyone who has a weapons achievement can brag is he had the fastest ping to outrun his teammates. Other than that, it's an amazing game and my favorite on the xBox so far. I think Bioshock has the potential to outdo it, though.

The trick is losing the race, and beating down the winner

I rarely play ranked games though, unranked with friends is 1000x better. I used to have enough coworkers who played to have compusa only games.

Not sure how much GoW I'll be playing once Halo 3 comes out. Haven't seen Richter playing for a while either *eye*

The aiming oddities do kind of ruin the game at times. I've found that I need to aim slightly to the left of where I want to hit. I've also walked up behind people, held the trigger in order to get the targeting thing, shot them IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD, only to have them be fine and kill me by blowing off my foot.

I also have days where everyone is dying to me, and others where I can shoot and shoot and shoot to no avail. I didn't notice such problems in Halo 2, which is why they annoy me so much in GoW.

Scaryscat is my gamer tag i paly gears of war religously. i was ranked 1 for about 3 seconds once in weekly events -flexes- ranked 70k all time i like the long shot looking forward to playing with some of you some time.

Get a 360 and Halo 3

I feel like wearing a dunce cap right now ,I searched on game stop .com and there was a link for Gears of war for pC, at 60.00 , apparently it's not even out for PC yet. so I got the Xbox 360 version in the mail, and it's not even returnable. that's the last time I buy something online, considering I can just get in my car two blocks away and get to a game stop.

I walked into best buy 5pm the day halo 2 came out, and there were stacks of the game on a table. Not going to worry about pre-ordering.
