It's not anymore. At least, not my copy. It makes it runs slower, but it works. And illusions that muck with my curing, make me writhe are one thing. Illusions that actually crash it until I stop and do a total system reset drive me insane, and at that point, I see no particular reason to be pleasant.

I'm sure bards and mages could illusion puppet shows or illusion afflictions they know don't work...
And for the record...she was being nice. I know for a fact she knows illusions that do alot worse things to palisade than aeon. I used to use them as a geo.

I do love them so. I was even tempted to go back Geo just so they'd have a decent/semi decent champion..but I can bring myself to leave!

I concur that Blanknote doesn't need the stun.

And if you're still using what I think you're using as a system, your illusion detection is okay. But some illusions can really screw you up. Have to be careful.

It doesn't work anymore, thanks to several clunky aliases that probably slow it down when used. I just hit them when I see something that shouldn't be there. Blanknote needs a stun, otherwise, I'll just toss truehearing right back u pagain. Transfix is more of a problem, with the writhe time.

You can't immediately put Truehearing back up. Not until you get the 'ear canal opens up again' message. So the stun isn't nescessary.

Blanknote doesn't need a stun because of the earwort-munching delay. It certainly doesn't need a stun longer than the eq it takes to pull off.

Though you make a point I forgot about the stun being longer than the eq recov. Only reinforces that the stun isn't needed. So cheers.

Yes we are, we need work or think sometimes, but if you put in enough though... Where theres a will theres a way... you will manage it.

That is sometimes why I just whore shackles or something, buying time to think.. sometimes you end up with things you would never usually consider and they work!

And yeah.. sting and flinging aeon shoulda told ya she is one of mine now Shammy!

As for what to do against bards, love potion, lust cards, entangles. And use that demon! If you stick paranoia their songs become their enemy! Get em to sleep and such if you need. Starleaper will let you leave if you really cant take any hits at all.

If your system falls vulnerable to illusion, it's your system's fault, not the illusionist. Design a better system. The point of illusions is to screw with systems. It's really not that hard to lessen your vulnerability.

I designed my system specifically with illusions in mind - it takes a slightly different mindset, but really isn't that difficult. The problems I know with Palisade can easily be fixed with a few minor changes that don't even involve the system architecture.

But...I bought a system because I couldn't code my way out of a wet paper bag. The system tries to cure while crucified. So far the only thing I can figure out to do is throw out a slew of vulgar insults to stun them long enough to pause and writhe off

That's not hard to fix. Before it tries to sip stuff, check if it's crucified.

Are you kidding me? Bards are not hard to fight. If your system automatically pauses because of certain illusions then fix it, turn off the afflict line for that fight or something. Simple and you people about it. You don't have to reset Palisade just simple DIAGNOSE and it's like "Oh hey, I'm not REALLY afflicted with that." then it goes back to what it's doing. You are too damn over dramatic about . Bard damage is Minimal and on top of that, I can't say I've ever really had complaints about Bard damage unless it's, for example, an Acrune combined with a Narsrim staff which hurts like crazy. It's not hard to writhe from transfix, I really don't see why that's even an issue. On the note of alts, I would imagine the point of making an alt is to get away from all the you get on your main and just because you know who someone's alt is doesn't mean you need to go run your mouth about it just because some little novice hands you your ass.

A touch excessive, perhaps.

Bard damage is anything but minimal.
