Why are male and female the only options for gender in the new registration process? I realize the admins aren't trying to be insensitive, but I'm now unable to register without lying. Is there any way this could be changed to include a "none of the above" or "genderqueer" option, or something of the like? Alternatively, is there a way to exit the registration process without completing it, and what happens if I don't register?

Me. I've tried twice.
I don't get the email, so every few minutes it spams the register message again.
EDIT: Grah. It keeps going.

Subj: Registration Process Change
Lusternia has upgraded to a new registration system. I'm afraid that
this means everyone will have to register once more, even if you have
previously registered. There's a silver lining to this minor
inconvenience: we're giving you 5 bound credits for re-registering, per
character. This bonus is only for characters who have registered before.
You will receive these credits after your registration is confirmed via
email.
Please be sure to use a valid email, or you will not be able to confirm
your registration. After you finish registering, you should get an email
from us. Click on the URL in the email, or cut and paste it into your
browser. If you don't get this confirmation email within a couple of
minutes, please check your spam/junk folder in case it somehow ended up
there. If you still do not have the email, you may want to try
registering again and double checking that the right email is entered.
If you're still having problems, please file an ISSUE report.
If you use aliases/triggers, you will want to make sure you have those
turned off while you are registering. There have been people who have,
for example, aliased all their numeric keys to some command, then found
themselves unable to choose from a numeric option menu (i.e., they type
4, or 5, and the alias bound to that numeric key goes off) and thinking
that the registration is 'broken'.
If you have multiple characters, the process is simplified for you.
After you register one character using a valid email address, simply
begin the registration process on your other characters with the same
email address (which will be the first question in the new process), and
the rest of the fields (name, birthday, et cetera) will be auto-filled
for you, and we'll send out a new confirmation email for that character.
You will have to confirm separately for each character.
Furthermore, if you have multiple characters, you will be able to
automatically update your registration information on all your
characters by updating on just one, as long as they are all registered
under the same email address.
Another helpful change with this new system is that you will be able to
reset your character's password yourself, in case you forget it or wish
to change it without logging in. Read about this and more in HELP
REGISTRATION.
Just type REGISTER to start the process, and please BUG any problems you
may have. Thank you!

For free creditzz, and a new system was put in so we all have to re-register.
Unknown2007-08-24 00:42:11
Anybody else not getting the email? The system only waits a couple of minutes for me to get it and confirm, then starts spamming again.
edit: nevermind, already answered.

Stupid Shamrock caused me to miss that.
Inox2007-08-24 00:46:23
Way to go off topic. Make a different thread if you don't care about the reason behind this one.
Okin2007-08-24 00:51:33
I agree with your sentiment, Inox, but the problem you're describing would affect relatively few people overall. Is it possible to simply pick one, and then if your actual gender ever becomes important to the administration, that can be addressed then via email?
Daganev2007-08-24 00:54:10
There should definitly be a hermaphodite option.
Inox2007-08-24 00:59:39
@Okin: I realize that, and I'm probably just being stubborn, but imagine if there was no male option for you. Would you be willing to register as female?
@daganev: That would be better than nothing, but the "none of the above" idea was meant to be more general than that.

They could just change it from "Gender" to "Sex", and add hermaphrodite.
And I would think it was odd, but I'd probably register as a female if I had too. XD
Those sorts of things happen anyway. >.>

How about "I have no gender, you insensitive clods?"
Personally, I find this to be just a little bit of a silly complaint compared to getting spammed with registration notices. Maybe it's just me. I don't think the admins are personally discriminating against you for being genderqueer, I think they're trying to implement a system. If you want it fixed, idea it. Complaining like this is probably not the most effective way to get your complaint taken seriously.

I lie on registration anyways, no reason you can't on the gender thing.
No one is getting the emails, but I hear the register reminders have been stopped for now.

I already tried a few things along those lines.

Did that come across as complaining? Wasn't meant to. I'm just suggesting that a different option be available.

Yeah, in my registration, i'm almost 50 years old

LAWL, got all the emails at once.
I imagine this great big Lusternia email pipe, and it clogging up.
