Law of derailed threads?

Ofcourse.
There is the Law of gravity, Law of attraction, Law of cosines.

As a proponent of civil disobedience, I'm staging a protest against the law of cosines tomorrow. All right-minded people should violate it as often as possible during the next 8 hours.

Sounds a whole lot less painful than that protest against the law of gravity I tried.

Here's how to decide what to put if you are neither. Which bathroom do you use in public places?

What if the answer to that is I have a Foley catheter and a colostomy bag?
Gaetele2007-08-24 20:55:08
Godwin's Law.
Gwylifar2007-08-24 20:59:16
Godwin's Law isn't about colostomy bags or trigonometry.
Unknown2007-08-24 21:42:09
Murphy's Law.

Both the actual 'law' and laws that Murphy makes up.

Maybe he thought there were miniature nazi's in the colostomy bag?

(Where they should be.)

Now you've done it.

I'd protest the Law of Averages, but if I did it long enough, someone would eventually assassinate me.

How's THAT for logical thinking rolleyes.gif

I agree with your sentiment, Inox, but the problem you're describing would affect relatively few people overall. Is it possible to simply pick one, and then if your actual gender ever becomes important to the administration, that can be addressed then via email?

My older sister is a true hermaphrodite, and is only male because her ID card says so, even though she pees from her female self, looks 100% female (so much hotter than me ;_;) and so on.

I don't think it would be too hard to add a third option, but I also do not really think they will, unless we rise up or something. Mmmm ladyboys... *wub*

It's probably not about whether it's hard or not so much as legal reasons, as mentioned. The govt. recognises only two sexes, therefore so does the law and thus everything else. Even hermaphrodites have to pick one, as you said.

So since you already have a legal one, use that. The fact that it says "gender" instead of "legal sex" isn't particularly relevant - just ignore it.

EDIT: That post was to both Simimi and Inox, not just Simimi. I guess that was vague.

Humans can never be true hermaphrodites. They can be male, female, or neither, but never both, apparently.

I thought of this while at an exposition center the other day, and there were 3 bathrooms. Male, Female, Unisex. Now, i know unisex is for parents to take their little ones into, but still, it sounds like it COULD be for hermaphrodites.

Don't you know better than to listen to Wikipedia? tongue.gif It's rare, but possible to have both testicular and ovarian tissue, or XX, XXY, XYY, or XXX chromosomes. Also, chimeras can have patches of genetically male and female tissue.

@stangmar: We have those in a few places in my town, and I use them whenever possible. And at work, there's only one bathroom, so it's not a problem.
Unknown2007-08-26 04:11:10
Inox: The triangle thing in your sig makes me think of a southwest line art (think those pictures of Kokopelli) version of Charune.

The end.

I think they meant that humans can't be hermaphrodites like worms are hermaphrodites. Meaning we can't fill both the function of both mother and father simultaneously even with the proper appendages/orifices.
