Demigod Nerf

Back to Common Grounds.

Your spread your arms wide, and the air between your hands begins to warp and twist as you bore a hole through the fabric of the planes, seeking to ascend to the Divine Havens.

You have recovered equilibrium.

You fold space and a swirling gateway of brilliant light pierces the air before you, boring a hole through the very fabric of the planes to the Vault of Heaven. You ascend confidently through the rotating gate, which shimmers and snaps shut behind
you.
The Vault of Heaven.
A comforting feeling of privacy pervades the area. With outstretched arms, an enormous statue of Estarra stands here vigilantly.
You see a single exit leading down.

Eighteen seconds to use an ability that was already restricted the same as a cubix? The new skill pales in comparison.
Hyrtakos2007-08-31 06:22:17
stopped by monoliths as well. i'll assume distortion too, but haven't tested that. it's a slower version of teleport nexus that costs mana tongue.gif

EDIT: i lied. teleport nexus can work inside

Damn....at least add the same exits as a cubix for this!!

I agree insta-havens was silly but this is even more sillier.

If you waste that much time irl to get Demigod, you deserve one part of the benefit of a cubix - the real benefit for me, at least, is being able to move around quickly and easily between cosmic/astral/elemental planes, not the escape itself. The restriction on havens was the same as a cubix, it's not like you could escape from anywhere. It didn't work indoors, etc.

Demesne Center > Haven now. That's rather sad.

I was thinking of saying that, but out of curiosity, how many people have cubixes that aren't already demis compared to those that do?
Unknown2007-08-31 06:34:33
...

EDIT: No I don't see why it was necessary at all...
Hyrtakos2007-08-31 06:34:46
well, in that same light, a great majority of the demigods won't be affected by this at all whether it be from the cubixes or seal artifacts

True - still, why the nerf? If they wanted to make it possible to not enter a peaced room, it's easy enough to change it to go to the Vault (like they did), which can easily be trapped by other Demigods.

Because demigods are increible OP and shouldn't even exist. Log and and you'll see your +3 stat boni weightened and/or entirely removed trust me. If it hasn't been done yet it probably will be within the next few rl days.

PS: Divinefire too

Zomg

well, it's a nerf that targets a select few people right now, myself being one of them. only thing i can think of is not wanting people to raid with relatively low risk?

The same restrictions existed on old havens as using a cubix - still easy enough to stop someone from leaving.
Unknown2007-08-31 06:47:32
Just a simple question.. but why is it necessary to nerf and continjue nerfing demigods? As Forren has said, the ability had plenty of restrictions already. Is it because it's similar to a 2k credit artifact and you should never get something for 'free' that you can buy with credits? Is it all about money? Or some weird sense of 'balance'?

PS: 2000th post, yay! I'm done now too. smile.gif
Hyrtakos2007-08-31 06:47:53
only thing that was really messed up about old havens and i only did it once, before i knew about it... was being unconscious and snapping out of it and ended up havens'ing out of a perfect fifth

it didn't seem all that overpowered until then. nice, crazy nice... but it was my main reason for going for demigod. now i'm back to not even being able to get out of villages safely without divinefiring. yay demigod?

i just think this throws the benefits of demigod highly below the risks of death and possibly losing it. even with old havens people like athana and ixion were content to just hover at titan. bashing back a conglutination death in under five minutes in place of +1 stats, regeneration, and one level's worth of hp? i think i would reconsider
Ixion2007-08-31 06:52:33
Athy and I are enjoying the senior titan spots smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
Yrael2007-08-31 07:04:37
It must be so hard to be you. I mean, really, having to act like normal players. You're demigods! You've been playing longer than everyone else! I mean, really, how PLEBIAN.
Ixion2007-08-31 07:07:28
Playing longer? Not in the least. It really doesn't take long to get titan/demi. You can realistically make a fresh char and have demi in under 6 months. The first titan got 90-99 in such a short time- it was utterly insane.
Xavius2007-08-31 07:13:13
So it's not that they play longer. It's that they've numbed themselves to the pain of existence and set a very low standard for "fun" in their lives.
Yrael2007-08-31 07:20:53
Six months is not exactly an inconsiderable period of time.
Krellan2007-08-31 07:29:33
hm most titans I think got 90-99 real fast I think. my run started at 88 anyways.
