While I'm not a demigod myself, I do believe the last slew of changes made seem unnecessary. Of the demigods that actively participate in combat, most still end up dying with some regularity even with the old haven ability. Being able to sometimes escape death where they otherwise would not have seemed like a reasonable perk for the amount of time a player had to put into obtaining demigod. In addition, with the lower essence loss upon death, we're back to where we started in terms of demigods escaping. They may possibly end up dying more, but each death is much less meaningful and thus really doesn't reflect the concept of demigod being a tenuous situation that a mortal would have to strive to continue working for to sustain. It makes it hard to understand why the change was a necessary one.

In addition, having manses that were docked on prime be able to access other planes by tesseracting may not fit the original design but it was a "feature" that everyone had access to and was even balancing against such tactics as limbo traps, as it was at least possible to sometimes manage to scry a potential group without blindly walking into it. The same is true about how tesseracting to other planes from a manse. It was never possible to tesseract back into a manse once one had left it, so this ended up being a good tactic to join up with a group if one was separated or returning to a fight if one was quick enough. This was a feature that added to the game instead of taking away from it and I'm rather sad that it's been seen as otherwise.

Though I understand that it is normally not policy to remove code tweaks, I hope these recent changes with demigods and aethermanses are rolled back. While they may seem like bugs compared to the original design, it was more serendipitous than anything else. Useful, utility-wise, and took away some of the tedium of moving around without being too much.

With more personal abilities like the zap, I can see losing Demigod being more plausible. Can really fly through the essence

Only complaint about zap is it seems to be somewhat int based too. Not really fair to warriors/monks. Thunderclap had the same problem when it first came out.

I feel that the instant-havens removal was needed. It was just silly. That's not even the best part about Demigod anyways. The +3 stats more than make up for that. Other IRE games pay 2000-4000 credits per +3 stat arties, and Demigods here get it for free. Let's not forget about the level 3 health/mana/ego regen which us Demigods receive too, which are about another few thousand credits. wink.gif Let's not get selfish now either, don't forget about shrink and expand, which is the best power we get overall due to tumbling.

Not sure if your trying to sound dumb on purpose or not but cubix restrictions are silly and any idiot can escape with a cubix while being ganked by a good-sized group....except for maybe if a blademaster is there. -mutter pinleg-

I thought that rather than "being dumb", he was saying cubix restrictions ought to be nerfed as well if it's enough of a problem for havens to get nerfed.

I was saying it's poor reasoning because an almost identical escape skill exists already.

If the peaced room was the concern, the location could have been moved to one of the non-peaced rooms in the Havens.

as far as thoros' comments, how many of those things you mention are demigod specific? it ends up being +1 stats whereas the titan gets the +2. i know of nobody that shrinks down below the sizes offered by titans. regenerations end up being used off prime for fighting at least 80% of the time more than prime i would say, usefully.

that being said, i was likely just being bitter that the skill gets nerfed that i find the most use for. you can just borrow a cubix when you need one. i can think of two people in glom with one and they're both druids, which must mean around all the time right? krellan and forren, the biggest demi griefers (tongue.gif), still get to continue their griefing ways! --and this useful skill for me is replaced by one that while i love the rp and customization of it... i do effectively half the damage of everybody else with it. 800 damage on kaervas with his nice level three electric penalty

and with all -that- being said now, with the unnecessary changes on phoenix... demi is certainly worthwhile for me or anybody else again so i have no reason to complain!

Well hopefully those silly amulet things that the winners of those contests from January arent permanent, so now Forren can actually be killed, before is was havens away anytime he thought he was in trouble.

As far as the cubix goes, well it costs 2000 credits so it doesnt need a nerf, when people acutally pay for them (not including the ones won for free in some contests) they deserve what they pay for I think.

i think maybe a demi attack based on str, and a demi attack based on int would be nice? -watches forren scream- "vigorus left bullet punch!!!" (reference from some old anime along time ago) that would cure the problem though
