I'm looking for a good site for Morrowind plug-ins. Preferrably, ones that are free. Can anyone make any recommendations?

http://www.tessource.net/

They also have oblivion ones so you will need to sort through. If you tell me what kind of mods your looking for I can show you some of the better ones.

All Morrowind plug-ins are free. The plug-ins can be obtained from the Bethesda website. http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_plugins.htm

All Morrowind mods should be free, too, and are probably what you're looking for. Whenever I got Morrowind mods, I got them from:

http://www.mwmythicmods.com/ (Pretty much anything you'd ever need)

http://tessource.net/files/ (More mods)

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...List&game=3 (Ridiculously huge library of mods)

I could make some recommendations if you need any.

Please. If you could make any recommendations, that would be fantastic. Right now, I'm working on my own mod, a floating castle on the coastal regions west of Khuul, along with 17 quests involved, but I wanted to add more to my own game play time as well. After teaching a course of freshmen college students, I need stuff to blow up and something to take my mind off of wanting to go postal.

If you know any fun Oblivion mods, I've been trying to get back in that.

Better Bodies and Better Heads (basically requirements to enjoy Morrowind imho)
Giants (THE monster mod)
Adventurers 3 (changes gameplay)
Morrowind Visual Pack (and Morrowind Visual Pack XT, texture replacers)
Children of Morrowind (as the name says)
Morrowind Comes Alive 5.1 (more NPCs)
CharGen Revamped v1.4 (changes character generation)
Pegas Horse Ranch 3.1 (horses!)

Once you find and download those, only a few of the hundreds that I've used over the years, your game should be changed quite a bit. If you like them, I encourage you to look for more! :D

I agree with most of that.

Ravenloft- great house
Ghost gate mod- adds a new city, you need to finish the main quest first though
Kirel's Interior Weather
better heads
better bodies
vibrant morrowind
Midget Alien's Tweaks & Additions
Economy Adjuster
sea of destiny
morrowind crafting
solstheim castle
a good place to stay
the epic sound track
Morrowind Photographer
Plugin Reorder-er - you will want this if you download a lot
Children of Morrowind
Dave's Furniture Store

Most of those add new items, textures, music, cities/buildings, or quests. I can't promise they will all work together though so you will want to check. .The reorder-er will help with that. I can probably find you links later

Speaking of faces, I highly recommend IFT (improved facial textures).

I've been playing for a few days now, and here are some of the Oblivion Mods I've been enjoying particularly well:

Akatosh Mount- Gives you a dragon mount that can fly and walk. Has its own textures, sounds, and attacks. 5 varieties- earth, storm, fire, ice, shadow. Love it.

TNR Race Mod- Changes a few race faces- gets rid of those weird double chins you often see in people.

Advance Weather System- AWS for short. Comes in seperate Oblivion and Shivering Isles versions. Boosts the usual 7 weather types to about..100. That's all there is to it.

Natural Environments Makes the trees, water, everything more realistic. Adds bugs, birds, dragonflies and similar smaller NPCs to make the world look better. Improves the sky at day and night, makes weather patterns be chosen based off of seasons. Beautiful mod.

Midas Magic- Okay, the actual Midas character sounds freaky as hell. But his spells are fun- all have their own animations and custom effects. Things like riding magic carpets, summoning a white tiger, summoning a melon atronach, loads of other spells. Requires a bit of work to get all the spells, though- you need essences, gems, gold nuggets, all sorts of stuff. There's new ways to get them with the mod.

PJSpellCompendium- Kinda like Midas's, but not as much custom effects. Has some weird spells like making miniature clones of a target, which attacks them. A spell that turns the world to night and shoots 'stars' at a target. Surprise, it's called starfire. Lots of other strange things.

Note: Don't mount if you've got Discombobulate cast on your horse. Better yet, avoid that spell on mounts in general. Causes bugs.

Alexander's Wing Mod- Adds equippable wings to your character- just for looks

Arcane University Mod- Can't remember the exact name. Nicely works over the University- new student NPCs, tutor/teacher NPCs, completely reworked the mystic archives and various enchanting/spellmaking rooms. Brings new styles of robes and hoods into the game. Supposedly new staves, too, but I haven't seen those.

Brighter Torches- Pretty much doubles the light given off by torches. Very useful if your monitor makes the darkness too sucky so you can barely walk around at night, like mine.

I also had a 'Cheydinhall Pet Shop' mod, but it seemed to be screwing up parts of my main quest. (Missing dialog, so the plot never moves forward, events don't trigger, etc.) Can't really comment on it.

Otherwise, I can never seen to get Ren's pack to work. -shrug-

there was an update a long time ago for the wings mod that let you equip on unequip the ring to allow you to fly/land i believe you could even set the key to which equips/unequips.
Furien2007-09-01 01:52:24
Which game, though?

AW Mod just seems to be giving the wings for look, equippable on either the tail (..?) or amulet slot of a person. There's nothing in the readme about flying, so I guess it can be a different mod.
Unknown2007-09-01 08:33:47
yea i think it was aw working wings mod check on tessorce shouldnt be to hard if you do a search for wings. its not a tail or ammy slot its a ring slot.

I tend to like utility mods, and don't go for area/quest additions as much. Along those lines, some Morrowind recommendations from me, then:

'All Boat Ports' and 'All Silt Striders' - Allows you to jump directly from one port/strider to another, rather than going along the route (directly from point A to point D rather than A to B, B to C, C to D). Saves zone loading time, but still costs more to go further away.

'Animal Realism' or 'Animal Behavior' - Tweaks animals. Some are stronger, annoying weak things aren't suicidally attacking you all the time (bye bye annoying attacks from things like cliff racers ... unless the animal is blighted). Makes it easier to run around exploring without constantly being attacked (I like exploring, and I still haven't been over more than a little bit of the whole place). Normal fish aren't aggressive, so pearl diving is easier (dreugh were made nastier, though).

'Fast Travel' - Lets you teleport around (outside) either for free or for a cost of one or more of gold/time/mp (I forget exactly, as I tend to choose to go for free even if it's less realistic ... think it's gold and time OR mp, with the cost increasing the further you want to travel away from your starting point), by casting a spell to go to a map, then casting another spell from there to travel where your pointer is on the map.

'Lurlock's Key Namer' - If you get tired of having 3 of 'A Rusty Key' and some of 'An Old Key' etc. A few things aren't named, but it's still nice. I only encountered one key named incorrectly, but looking at the plugin and the original files in the construction set it didn't look like it was the mod's mistake, even ... at any rate, easily fixable.

'Real Signposts' (search for Matthias/ElBundeee) - Changes the signposts (in areas where there are some) to have readable names, rather than Morrowind-script-symbols and having to go all the way up to the signpost and have your target over each one to get the mouseover of what it actually says.

'Herbalism' (by ... Balor, I think) - Tweaks plant/herb gathering. Adds an unseen Herbalism skill (depending how your character starts, you actually might not be able to gather things at all right at first, need to have at least 10 alchemy or a "connection with herbs" (readme file explains the details in case I'm confusing)), which increases as you collect more. Changes the plants themselves so when activated, they disappear and respawn in a month (no more having to wonder if you already 'harvested' in an area ... if a plant-piece-spawn-thingy is there now, there'll be a chance to gather from it). Chance to collect is changed (can collect double and triple amounts), etc. What can I say? I like running around picking flowers! biggrin.gif

I got all of my mods (except the official ones, didn't include them but I've got most of them) from http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/

Better Bodies and Better Heads are indeed nice, but I ended up reverting back to not using them. The bright white teeth bugged me, and the edges of people got looking a little odd. Original bodies/heads are clunkier looking, but they sorta fade into the background instead of catching my attention. I miss my pretty hands sometimes.
