It's not about what you want, it's not about what I want, it's about the greater good of Glomdoring and its overall health- health which has been sorely lacking due to this scheming, secrecy etc that you seem to enjoy bringing up constantly. That as well as this fairly common attitude that it's only the opinion of one person or minute few people that matters rather than bothering to take the bigger picture into account.

You are right, its not about what I want.

But if you want to prevent this issue in the future you have to actually do something to prevent it.

Telling people not to use manipulation against other people is all well and good, but its not going to stop a person who reads the scrolls and history, and decides "Hey, this looks like fun, I'll try a charachter to gets to the top by manipulation and schemeing"

Its like having people sign an honour code not to cheat on tests, and then at the same time, teaching them all the methods of how to cheat and how to lie with a straight face. And then being surprised when you find that there is an epidemic of people cheating on tests at your school.

Currently, the laws of Glomdoring tell people that you can not scheme or plot against your commune mates, and that law has been there all the time. I'm not 100% if that law is written down or not, but I do remember voting on it in the past. (and voting that its a good idea to make it illegal)

as far as I know, most of mag is kept on powerblock and requires permission to draw. they get unblocked to draw and reblocked. the people on their legion clan I think are responsible for their own drawing with their respective allotments. In Seren, all novices are unblocked, and everyone gets lot to draw. It's based on CR with lowest ranks getting 20% reserves a weave. People often overdraw whether necessary or not and don't really get powerblocked at all.

I think the current laws in Glomdoring are everybody gets 25%, if you are a champion you get 50%, if there is a raid or whatever, you have unlimited access.

Hmm perhaps I should dive into Glom as well... Either in current form or a new one I wonder...

Veto. Alodia is not allowed to leave the Celestines. dazed.gif

That's what I was wondering. I don't think it really does influence anything but I don't think it could hurt.

I'm pretty sure, given conversations I've had with Magnagorans, Celestians, and Serenwilders, that ours are the most lax written laws at the moment. Anybody can draw 25% (50p) a day, protectors/security get 35%, Champions get 50%. Anybody can draw more power at a 2-1 ratio (bring 2 in, get 1 out). 1:1 ratio for defensive purposes, infinite draw for defensive purposes (I'm not really sure why we've got both, but there y'have it). You can pretty much draw as much as you'd like, and it's hardly lethal-- just means that you need to go hit Water once a day if you want to draw a huge amount-- or cone Astral for a bit, or grab a few shadows. It's one of those, "We'll give you a large amount of free power, and if you'd like a little more, all y'need to do is have a little bit of initiative and go on out there!" type things.

Initiative is also one of those bits that's commented on as being sorely lacking, which I will agree on. I don't think removing a way for people to realize that there is, in fact, something that they could be doing other than sitting around is a good idea though-- there's already plenty of power available.

Now, if you want to talk about *enforced* laws, then ours probably are not the most lax. Seren doesn't at the moment really enforce power laws (notes from Tael). I'm not sure about Celest now that Soll is gone, but he used to enforce them pretty strongly. Sybl is massively cracking down on Magnagora's power laws, which draws ire from much of Magnagora's fighter populace that's used to infinite power (despite the written laws).

Given this, I'd say that in theory we have the most lax laws, but in practice we're second-least lax. That's more a problem of some being used to not obeying policy, though.

Ours is 30p for commoners, 30+ power tiered for Brigade members (aka fighters), unlimited Champions and reimbursement for defense. But now that Soll (we love you Soll!!) isn't PM anymore, it's become pretty lax. Except for Talkan, who can use 1k power in a day and not even break a sweat.

So yeah, this pretty much fits into my classification above (and is the one I was most unsure about, having had a lot more conversations with Tael / various Magnagorans about power laws than with Celestians).

Seren has been very lax about enforcing them for a while now, but truth be told it's not necessary currently either.

We have had a pretty much inactive power minister for a while and I took over only so much as to check the logs randomly and pester people who drew 100+ power a month without bringing -anything- in. Other than that I am a friend of the 1:1 ratio even if officially we have a 2:1. As long as the Moonhart overall grows in power, I really don't mind much.

Also, Seren has fairly few people that raid and as such there aren't many that really draw a lot of power. The last one like that is Tchaichlao really and I -do- pester her.. occasionally.

So yeah.. Seren is more or less haven if you need power. Plus, we do not keep people blocked by default. Blocking is only for punishment.

The default blocking that Glomdoring (I think) and Magnagora still have reminds me of the old days in Imperian where everyone was on probation by default and often had to work for a -long- time and through multiple advancements to get off it.

To be frank, I never understood the point behind having people being blocked all the time and unblocked only to draw power.

Yeah, you are the power minister and enough people have experienced your wrath to know not to overdraw.
