Shayle2007-09-04 00:17:21
Having been away for the weekend, enjoying my “last hurrah†before the beginning of the school year, I cannot say that I was sorry to miss the Glomdoring summit, nor can I say that I am all too surprised by the conversation I read or the results. It is no secret to me that Estarra has long wished for Shayle to retire. He has been certainly straightforward in that opinion both to me and to others.
In one respect, I am flattered that such importance be placed on my creation. In another, I am dismayed by some things that have come to pass.
Regardless…I am announcing Shayle’s retirement.
I am announcing this OOC because this is an OOC decision. In truth, I have no real IC reason to do so.
The Shadowdancers are a fabulous guild that has continued to do well despite any and all Glomdoring drama. They are, as I have said countless times, my primary reason for logging into Lusternia, day in and day out. I really and truly enjoy being a guildmaster. I am sorry for anyone who is upset by this decision. I am really sorry. I do feel slightly guilty even as I write this now.
However, I just don’t feel like defending myself from a disgruntled group of random people anymore. I find it relatively absurd that I care this much. When I take a step back from it all, I realize that as much as I care about the people I really play with, I am unhappy with the way Lusternia is run. I am disturbed by how issues are handled. I almost laughed when I read about the “ooc harassment.†Perception is an amazing thing.
So, thank you to everyone who supported my character, and thank you more for those who supported me. I’m going to spend some time now crafting a short, IC post. I’m going to enjoy not having to log in every day out of obligation. I will enjoy helping novices without the pressure to keep them, without giving away my things needlessly, and without dealing with accusations, suspicions, and needless drama.
I hope it helps. I really do.

I hope that last paragraph means I still get to bump into you once in a while!
And I still can't get anybody to say anything concrete IG.

Who would have ever thought I'd agree with you? Especially about this. But it's true.

My character is new to the coven and I don't have history here but I have to say, it's hard to imagine this as anything but a net loss all around. In my limited experiences, Queen Shayle enriched both the guild and the aura of the commune and was one of a very small few who took the time to personally meet, interact with and help my novice get settled into both.
Anae2007-09-04 00:46:30
But who is Anae going to be terrified of now?

Caraek2007-09-04 00:48:10
It was after several meetings with Shayle that Caraek knew he wanted to leave Celest and join Glomdoring.
It will absolutely be a net loss if Shayle ceases to be active and engaged with the novices of the Shadowdancers.

I'll probably be the only one to say this, but I say it happily. I think it's probably more than a few months too late, but thank god.
I don't think it'll help Glomdoring, but it certainly won't hurt.

Yeah, no. Definitely net loss.
