QUOTE
As you know, tomorrow marks the Ten Year Anniversary of Iron Realms
Entertainment. Believe it or not, I started as a player from those very
beginning--oh, the stories I could tell! But 10 years is quite an
accomplishment and as such we will be celebrating throughout the day.
First of all, the special history quest will continue through tomorrow.
Travel to Avechna and TOUCH AVENGER to get started if you haven't
already. We've changed one clue so that you will no longer have to
travel into the Undervault. Double check your clues to make sure yours
hasn't changed.
We will also start some one day only auctions tomorrow, with never
before seen artifacts.
Finally, we will be running a series of games with credit prizes. For
those prizes with the Top 3 winners, first place will receive 500
credits, second place 200 and third place 100.
1:00 pm PST - Quiz on Lusternia with credit prizes to Top 3
2:00 pm PST - Harmony Worldgame with credit prizes to Top 3
3:00 pm PST - Death Worldgame with credit prizes to Top 3
4:00 pm PST - Hamster Hunt with credit prizes to Top 3
5:15 pm PST - Multiplanar Scavenger Hunt with credit prizes
to Top 3
6:30 pm PST - Squibbles will run an FFA with a prize to the
last person standing
Also, at 5:00 pm PST, everyone logged in will receive free lessons and
credits. So make sure you are here for that!

Happy Anniversary to all you guys at Iron Realms!
Oh, and timewise, PST is GMT-8, right?
So if I wanted times in GMT, these events would start at 9pm Monday and the bonus lesson/credit moment would be at 1am Tuesday.
And then to get Australian EST, I add ten hours so it starts at 7am Tuesday, and the bonus lesson/credit moment is at 11am?

PST is GMT-7 right now. And the 9th is a Sunday here.
So, times in GMT, these events would start at 8pm Sunday, and the lesson/credit moment would be at 12am Monday. So, 6am and 10am Monday, respectively for the start and the freebies in Australian time.
At least I think that's right.

Ah, thanks!
Ayridion2007-09-09 06:20:27
PST is GMT-9. However, Britain uses BST (British Summer Time) during the summer, which is an hour ahead of GMT. At this moment, PST is 11:21pm, whereas in Britain the time is 7:21am. Go ahead and use that as you will.
Ildaudid2007-09-09 06:21:06
Sounds like fun, I really really hope I do not have to put another damn coat of paint in that effin bathroom tomorrow!!!!
Dalena2007-09-09 06:26:01
Does.. this mean I missed the lottery that was going on??

Edit: Nevermind. Misread.
..However, if its 11:30pm in PST, and 6:30am GMT.. that's 7 hours, not 9. Or am I just really tired?

But I think PST is -8, so Ayridion's figures are slightly out?

I must be tired, cause your post just confused me even more.
You mean Ayridion is wrong? Or are you saying something else?
Caaause I live under PST, and its currently 11:33. And by googling "Current time GMT" it comes up as 6:33. So that's 7 hours.
So.. i'm right, right?
I hate time.
Shiri2007-09-09 06:44:55
Maybe PST changes too. That would make it 7 hours off GMT during the Summer, and 8 hours during the Winter. That would explain it.
Either way, -9 doesn't seem right.

Ayridion's figures are Britain's figures. At the moment, Britain = PST + 8.
You can see why Estarra stopped doing time conversions.
Shiri2007-09-09 06:47:38
Britain is PST+8, not -8!
Unknown2007-09-09 06:50:57
I vote all times should be quoted in Australian Eastern Standard by default, because all your leaders belong to us (at the moment, anyway!).
So, the majority vote is that PST is GMT-8?

No, GMT is fixed while PST appears to not be. They also change it at some random point during the year instead of when we do.
And all whose leaders belong to who?

Right! I don't see what the problem is!
Now start getting your books out and revising for the quiz; because it's going to be hard!
Unknown2007-09-09 06:57:53
Yeah, America has this funny thing that's called Daylight Savings Time where, from about April to October, we advance our clocks one hour forward for some arbitrary reason. At the moment, PDST is GMT-7, rather than -8. The same applies to Hawaiian, Alaskan, Mountain, Central, and Eastern time.
It's 11:57 pm here, so I'd guess it's 6:57 am in Britain..
EDIT: Oh, wait. Ayridion posted earlier that Brits jump an hour ahead, too. So it'd be 7:57 am, as if neither time had been adjusted. Who the invented Daylight Savings Time?!

It's just turned 8:00am in Britain.

Some farmer, probably. Let's rally a mob and pitchfork 'em!
