That's what I thought.
Shiri2007-09-12 00:45:50
Well, does this not apply to armour? Maybe I misread.
Daganev2007-09-12 00:48:38
The old method got you able to have 175%, that means that the new method the max you can get is 42%?
Unknown2007-09-12 00:56:32
I was wondering something about damage being done, too, as I no longer get the extra "You must be wielding your talisman" when using moonburst without it wielded. Maybe it's not just a cosmetic change? Anyone know?

Making spheres only work on the astrologer would be terrible. Ignore Synl please. (!?!?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING MAN)
Er, what's the point of being able to cast spheres on others if the maximum boost you'll be giving is 10%? Keeping in mind that the maximum is rather rare, and it'll usually be around 5-8%. I'd much rather have 15-30% resistance for myself than give 5% to my allies.
Also.
BEFORE NIGHTKISS:
4440h, 4710m, 5181e, 10p elrx-
Lisarel swings Daerciel, Severer of Threads at you. The strike to your right arm barely cuts through the skin.
2483h, 4710m, 5181e, 10p elrx-
(-1957h, 0m, 0e)
AFTER NIGHTKISS:
4440h, 4980m, 5181e, 4p elrx-
Lisarel swings Daerciel, Severer of Threads at you. You are cut in the left arm,
which becomes limp and falls to your side.
2592h, 4980m, 5181e, 4p elrx-
(-1848h, 0m, 0e)
About a 6% damage reduction from Nightkiss now (other defenses were Barkskin, Garb, and 53 Cutting Robes.)
Shiri2007-09-12 01:05:51
Because the whole point of astrology is to be able to buff your teammates with spheres and nerf your enemies with negative ones.

Correction, non-tracking knights actually take damage now.
What about Crow/Stag?

I remember hearing that it does apply to armour and racial resistances. If that is so, then yes even people who only wore armour are being affected by the changes too.
Unknown2007-09-12 01:42:41
Wouldn't it make more sense to increase the tiers consecutively? Rather than getting to 30 DMP and slashing all other resistance, since that seems to be below the level most classes vary about?
So like,
DMPs Tier Weight Ratio
1-10 1 1:1
11-20 2 2:1
21-30 3 3:1
31+ 4 10:1 31-40 4 4:1
41-50 5 5:1
51-60 6 6:1
etc

Ildaudid2007-09-12 02:35:28
I really don't notice a difference. But again like Ixion said, it is because of being a tracker.
Lysandus2007-09-12 02:36:55
I dunno about you guys but warriors are now more deadly in bashing, before I need like, 6-7 hits to kill a shark and now I can kill them with 2-3 hits with 14 str, 16 dex.
Someone told me with the changes, they can kill gorgogs with two swings now...

ANNOUNCE NEWS #907
Date: 9/12/2007 at 2:08
From: Morgfyre, the Legion
To : Everyone
Subj: Damage Bonuses
We've expanded the damage weighting system into damage buffs now as
well, almost without exception. The change that will affect most
Lusternians is that the affects of your stats on damage has been
integrated into this weighted system.
Summarily, you can expect the following:
+ If you have Strength below 14, expect an increase in your damage
+ If you have Int or Dex below 12, expect an increase in your damage
+ If you have stats above those, expect a decrease in your damage
As this (combined with the resistances) results in a significant change
to how damage is calculated, we may be revisiting damage after
observation for some modification where necessary.
Penned by My hand on the 1st of Estar, in the year 186 CE.

Why the difference between strength and int/dex?
Eldin2007-09-12 02:45:30
I have Strength below 14, but a Dex above 12. As a monk, I would expect my damage to go down... but it went up instead.
Dunno why it happened, but I like it :3

So as an undead aslaran I would be above 14 str and get nerfed back down? I guess being undead may not be a good choice? I will have to play with it some to figure it out first.
I think it just made shadowlord faelings a great damn warrior choice now though.

What damage source do monk attacks have?
Unknown2007-09-12 02:53:32
how come every thing they nerf hurts me?
Ildaudid2007-09-12 02:54:49
Monk are a combo of str/dex for their damage I think
Ooh wait did this just nerf titan/demigods again too? since titan/demi's get a stat increase, will they now see a damage decrease at obtaining this?
If so, it gives a reason not to go for it now.

My strength is 15, and it actually went up by about 100, on average, to a 103/103 fullplate nutter. At least I'm finally breaking the 500 mark thanks to this.
