I don't think it's a negative increase (decrease) I think it's more of a diminishing returns type thing. So getting additional stats isn't going to actually hurt you, it just isn't going to help you as much as it would have.

I did 1300 damage with my staff to someone who I would probably only do about 700-900 to prior to this change. I know I should be extremely happy, now that I can bash with utter impunity, but the sad thing is, I'm a Loboshigaru with 10 INT. How the heck is 1300 damage even possible?!

I own myself with minorseconds now. I used to do ~1k and now I do ~1.5k against myself with minor second. Since my INT is above 12 (14) I should be doing less damage, but I'm doing more, which makes me think the damage weighting affected racial resitances/magic proofing resists.

Well, the benefit of high intelligence for an imperial merian seems to mean about nothing now. Yevah and I, with identical defenses as far as I can tell, her with 14 int and me with 18, did almost exactly the same damage to one another with cosmicfire. With fortuna and 19 intelligence, I did the EXACT same damage to her as with 18. There was no change with the additional intelligence. I could pick a race with mediocre intelligence to the same effect and alot more health, and just keep a waterbreathe enchantment.

Attacking yourself will never be good testing data because you don't do your maximum damage when targetting yourself.

Some points I wonder about:
- Was mob damage adjusted too? If not how will slaying Demon Lords / Supernals / Avatars look like now? How is bashing astral?
- What Creslin mentioned. Will high int / str races even matter anymore? Or is it better to take a medicore race all around as the differences in high stat ranges become as good as non existent?
- Will the classes with more offensive than defensive skills be better now? In the past the defensive classes made up for it by tankiness but that doesn't seem to the case now anymore...

I for one think the changes are definitley a step in the right direction, and now things like bard damage, and other stuff can be balanced decently. It all definitley needed to be normalised, and it will be for the good of the game, much like the stat weighting was

I'm -guessing- it flows in with regular defences. So if your normal defs give you 32% cutting/blunt resi already then the effect will be... zero? (Since 32% seems to be the cap, or am I reading the help dmp wrong?) Of course resilience still gives you a chance to shrug and magic to resist succumb. Should perhaps be made mini skills though imo.
Also, I think races should get looked at. Some of them were only good due to high stats such as merian int. But merians are going to die even faster now (low con, weaknesses to elemental) -and- do less dmg to their opponents too due to the scaling of int.
I have the feeling low to medicore stat races with high con are the way to go now.

If what Creslin is saying is true, I hope the administration considers giving everyone a free reincarnation.. since this vastly changes things for races like Merians. Why be squishy now?
