I do, which is what would pose the problem where I to want to change to a more mechanically suitable race if the high intelligence, as one of the largest benefits aside from RP for me as a merian, remains practically negated. Switching races would be so entirely OOC now that its all but impossible unless I get knocked over the head somehow and forget my entire life.

I'm -guessing- it flows in with regular defences. So if your normal defs give you 32% cutting/blunt resi already then the effect will be... zero? (Since 32% seems to be the cap, or am I reading the help dmp wrong?) Of course resilience still gives you a chance to shrug and magic to resist succumb. Should perhaps be made mini skills though imo.
Also, I think races should get looked at. Some of them were only good due to high stats such as merian int. But merians are going to die even faster now (low con, weaknesses to elemental) -and- do less dmg to their opponents too due to the scaling of int.
I have the feeling low to medicore stat races with high con are the way to go now.

This is not good, I think that trans magic/resilience should not be affected by this DMP stuff at all.
If they are, then they should be changed to mini skills, and people who are already trans in it should have the proper amt of credits that they overpayed for miniskills refunded.
But honestly, just make it so that magic/resil is not calculated into this DMP, that it is a flat rate.

That argument doesn't hold much weight. If my character was an Imperial Merian in order to be the most efficient at what she does, suddenly -not- being so efficient is definitely going to be noticeable. There's nothing OOC about suddenly being less efficient at doing IC things.
These things are not OOC. These things will be noticeable IC.

I really do hope damage from warriors is not going to be out of whack.

In vain, at current.
Unknown2007-09-12 07:09:20
was all this really necessary?

Murphy2007-09-12 07:56:27
damage and wounding from warrior is currently broken and bugged. all warriors therefore should target people like narsrim and nejii and beat them down as much as possible
Callus2007-09-12 10:13:13
I agree with Ildaudid, Magic and Resilience should absolutely NOT be included in all this DMP stuff. They should work separately, as a constant.
Also, something I noticed... My Staff is now pwnage for bashing. Plowing through spectres like never before (2 hits children, 3 adults, Alodale and Rudzine, 4 paladins). And I have 17 Int (Knowledge... and War, but I'm not really sure how that works, so nvm), which means I was supposed to see a decrease in damage. But I'm seeing the exact opposite.
I so hope this isn't a bug, I want it this way.
Also, I noticed a significant decrease in Criticals. I don't know if there's a reason why they'd be affected by DMP, but I'm just mentioning. Usually when I'm hunting spectres, I get a Critical or Crushing Critical every two spectres, which is to say really often. Last two hunts, I got two Criticals per hunt. Which is not normal.

Criticals seem normal for me. Luck, maybe?
And yeah, hope the hunting damage is intended and not a bug.

I also seem to be killing things close to twice as fast now (orcs were 3-4 staff points and now they're 2) and I actually seem to be taking a little less to a lot less damage now. Although I'm a mage, so it's possible that I'm just noticing the increase in my physical resistances (stoneskin and psiarmour).

@Neraka: Wow, um...let's just calm down a little bit. I understand your frustration, but keep in mind that these are the same administrators everyone praises when we get some cool new thing. The lag isn't really under their direct control (I think that's more the jurisdiction of IRE itself) and sometimes nerfs really are necessary. Just give it some time. Estarra just said that they were already working on changes. Give it a week or two, and then if you still feel angry, try providing constructive criticism. Granted that it won't likely make much of a difference, but it's less vitriolic than this.
What cool new things? From a Celest perspective, I've gotten the shaft more often than the boon (constructs, nexus weakenings, changes to Sacraments, etc). Novelty is fine, but I've learned not to even think about putting money into anything until it's 3+ months old. And most of the time it's a resounding no.
What I don't understand is why more testing didn't go into such a large impact change. They got plenty of player slaves who will test for them. In the industry I work in, if you release something to production without sufficient testing, you get fired.
And, if you know anything about forums, the louder the whine, the more likely for change. So I'm just perpetuating that!

Wounds are now bugged to all hell.
Nico2007-09-12 14:28:42
So...did these changes make it so that mages/wiccans/guardians are back to what I consider appropriate tankiness levels? Meaning that overall warriors are the tankiest, and then the others are as frail as wet paper with a few magical shield effects. Personally I was always annoyed when Nico would have to carry around this clunky, heavy fullplate armor, whereas his buddy next to him was practically nekkid but could take more hits than I ever could due to stacking resistances.
From the sounds of things though, resistances across the board were affected. To achieve what I, in my humble opinion, think is more appropriate, one would have to restrict the resistance weighting from affecting the resistances conferred by worn armor.

All I know is, Acrobatics is now infinitely better than Psymet for PVE, because not being hit >>>>>>> maybe regening some HP or the few minor defs you get from it...

probablly.
My 200 damage flails with elemental runes on them didn't seem to kill people any faster than they used to as a tae'dae *shrug*
