Regarding Aqua staves, after some extensive testing (read: staffcasting chaos in the streets), we found that Denust (Loboshigaru), being the low INT extreme, did as much damage as Mariello (Imperial Merian), who was the high INT extreme, but also the same as Fionn (Faeling), who was above average. After punching in the numbers on the offchance that it could be explainable, so far we've found that staff damage now scales to hit for ~20% - 25% max hp per hit. When Fionn was undeffed, he took ~25% max, but with elementshield, spiritshield, and I think one biofeedback (cold), the damage was dropped to just under 23.5%. I'm wondering if this has been applied to all spells across the board, from what I read about cosmicfire doing roughly the same amount of damage, no matter the INT of whoever cast it.
If the above is true, then Tae'dae - along with all the other low INT, high CON races like Igasho - should suddenly rock at being teh uber tanky mages. And while that does seem unfair to the high INT, low CON races like Merians, do consider that you've been kicking for years now and the rest of us should have at least somewhat decent damage. Probably not at this level, but I'm very happy that I can take krokani and moose in 4 shots instead of 9 - 11 (not counting criticals).

No no no no no. With the current changes, the only stat that matters is con. Things definitely need fixing.

People, let's control ourselves.
This is definitely a move in the right direction, but it is WAY too massive a change for them to have caught everything at once. I think it could have used more tweaking before being released, but these constant complaints are a bit melodramatic. Just remember a few things:
1. There are still a lot of problems.
2. They will not stay the way they are.
3. This is just a starting point - things will probably change on a regular basis until everything is how it should be.
Keeping these three things in mind, go out and enjoy the game for awhile while the admin get things fixed up. I think threads like this are redundant - people saying over and over that everyone does too much damage doesn't help. Everyone knows, it will be fixed, let's move on.

On the plus side, bashings a lot faster now.

Bashing is insanely fast now, I can kill most things in 4-5 hits if that.

So...did these changes make it so that mages/wiccans/guardians are back to what I consider appropriate tankiness levels? Meaning that overall warriors are the tankiest, and then the others are as frail as wet paper with a few magical shield effects. Personally I was always annoyed when Nico would have to carry around this clunky, heavy fullplate armor, whereas his buddy next to him was practically nekkid but could take more hits than I ever could due to stacking resistances.
From the sounds of things though, resistances across the board were affected. To achieve what I, in my humble opinion, think is more appropriate, one would have to restrict the resistance weighting from affecting the resistances conferred by worn armor.

i think that's the general case. There's a cap resistance of like 40 some %. so even if wiccans beat you and you only get 30% and they get 40% then you'll still be tankier because warriors generally have more than that 10% difference in health over wiccans and guardians.

There's something painfully and seriously wrong if Forren's damage just got cut in third.

There's something painfully and seriously wrong if Forren's damage was 3x that to begin with.

Niiice, well nice for non mages, they can combat you without the point staffs.
I wonder if they made the resilience and magic skillsets not be included into this new setup yet.
