Glomdoring’s Progress

Back to Common Grounds.

Eh. It took a long time for Elryn because he was Loathed, which is (generally) perma-enemy status. Thus more work is involved. The process is considerably more streamlined for other people.

It's a shame more new people don't read the histories on the web site. I just finished going through them today (I was really impressed!) Glomdoring's story is especially sad, as is the fate of its leader. Corrupted horribly when they did everything they could have done to prevent what happened. cry.gif

The place might have more appeal to a new player if they realized it was much much deeper than just a generic evil forest.

It is immensely tragic, yes, and that's honestly part of the appeal for me. It's fascinating that an entire commune is operating under a sort of enforced mass delusion.

Don't read the article, just read the headline...

I so totally agree, its not funny.

I think Glomdoring has always tried to distance itself from that story though. Mention of Gloriana is still mostly taboo. Its more like Glomdoring is an evil forest that just happens to be in the same spot as the old one.

I think mention of Gloriana is avoided not because a lot of people haven't read the histories or don't understand the story, but because IC it's a rather ugly fact. I think that's changing though, what with our blossoming redefinition of the Wyrd (again?)

People don't talk about Gloriana too much for a good, history-based reason. It failed. Shazbat Gloriana. Glomdoring is here to do what Gloriana could not.

Hazar, let me reference you to my sarcastic and slightly disgusted comments on skype about the standard thought of Glom concerning Gloriana.

I skipped it. Do share.
