poisons and kata weapons

Do only some poisons work on Kata weapons? Or am I just fighting everyone in the world with trans resilience like me who is shrugging everything and their momma?

Cause So far I have found that Niricol, matakaya, senso and one other work. Yet I got a ton of Charybdon and don't see it infecting people at all.

My reasoning was this. I hate hunting scorpions cause I have to constantly diagnose, cause they give multiple afflictions with one poison. So I figured if I could do the same thing with my monkery, I would be a little more deadly then just bashing someone's head in with a tahto. But so far I've totally envenomed my staff to 41 and bashed someone over 40 times in combat and they haven't reported one poison effect on them. WTF?

Do some poisons not work on blunt weapons? Or does Charybdon only work if the person is bleeding or some other weird situation I don't really run into as a tahto wielding killer monk?

Thoughts? Questions?

Try using it outside of the arena and see how long it takes for your poison applies to be used up, maybe? That does sound rather odd.

Charybdon is random hidden afflictions...

That's probably why you don't see it.

But chary has an affliction message, and with 40 hits, you'd get some kind of noticeable afflict. Besides, I'm sure the target is bright enough to diagnose.

He's asking in his post, "Am I fighting people who have massive resistance?" This implies he's not actually asked them if they're being afflicted, just going off of the messages.

Though, yes, you would expect after 40 hits of it you'd get one of the ones that isn't hidden. Still, I'd suggest asking your targets if the charybdon is hitting them if you haven't, or if they are shrugging-- that's the most likely answer that's coming to mind. You can also weaponprobe them to see if applications are coming off after combos. If you can put the poison on, it should be coming off (since others are).

maybe he was attackiog a poisonist who knew he did that and the poisonist used their trans immunity skill?

Doesn't work on charybdon, specifically. Poisonists can't choose charybdon. They can choose mantakaya, though, and if charybdon fires mantakaya's affliction they will resist it. (Works this way for any of the poisons they can choose)

Can't immunize chary.

I was thinking of commenting, decided not to-- refreshed, saw your edit, and decided to say hi.

So-- hello!

Why hello there, Mr. Ninja. That sure was a shiny sword I saw sticking out of my chest. How do you keep it so polished with all of the forum battling you do?

I was tempted to say that blood was an amazing polish-- but I don't think that's actually true, alas.

It seems to work pretty well in Lusternia, though.
