I would love to upgrade symbol even if only for bashing, as its kind of wimpy.. give me a Nihilist staff! Or let me offer corpses to nil to boost health!

Damn... when we first got symbols, everyone was so pleased, it was a significant boost to bashing plus all the other good stuff.
And now it's too weak again?

No.

People are just spoiled rotten.

Take symbol away for a bit. Just to see how they react to how it "used to be"

Ok, I've never was around before we had the symbol, however I can tell you from the time that I just had cosmicfire and from the times that I lost the symbol that it is very nice. It definitly is not the best hunting attack but it is much better then cosmicfire. Would a upgrade be nice? Sure. Is it needed? No.

I heard a bard complain about druid bashing as being too weak yesterday.

Cudgel and staff had the highest mob damage before bards and monks came along, justified by their relative flimsiness.

Then guardians got symbols for extra damage, a good chunk of mages got psionics for extra tankiness, bards got massive damage on a ridiculously short eq, and monks who outbash them all.

Bad.
