Hi Folks.
I've played a few IRE-games by now. Achaea and Imperian mostly, but I have never had a PK-oriented character before. This was to change with Lusternia. Joined the black and gloomy forces of Magnagora, took on a demonic appearance, and started learning away.
Now. I don't have access to OOC-credits, for various reasons - well, one reason, I'm a poor effing sod, so that's out of the question. I wonder though, is it possible for to reach a decent level where my character would be able to make a difference in combat?
I don't want to become one of them people hunting everyone for various reasons - I just want to be able to stand firm and take action when Magnagora needs it.
So - is it possible to become a decent fighter this way, and how would I do so?

Daevos is a Viscanti Axelord.

Viscanti aren't an optimal race, but they're by no means worthless. It's doable, especially if you only want to fight in groups.

Vathael is Viscanti BM and he does pretty well for himself.

By all means, it's doable to be an efficient PvPer without any access to OOC credits. A Viscanti/Axelord combo is... decent, but not the best. Viscanti have that level 2 sipping penalty, which is a real pain. Axelords are currently the weakest combat specialisation, but that doesn't mean it's weak - only others are stronger. Bonecrushers are currently considered the most powerful.

That does sadden to hear somehow. I have been fighting a guildmate a lot lately, who is a bonecrusher - no wonder it didn't work out.
Are there any special strategies I should go for, or should I simply change either race or specialisation?

I wouldn't say that Axelord is the weakest spec (although I'd agree that Bonecrusher is the strongest), but it's definitely not a spec you can do without getting near trans in Axelord.
Warrior spec viscanti really aren't so bad. Caster spec viscanti might be, but brood is ok. Like already stated, they're not the best, the sip penalty is no fun, but you should be ok.
So, before you switch away, I'd just consider your ability to grind out the gold for 200-odd credits.

Blademaster is probably the weakest spec ATM. I'd rank Pureblades/Axelords together in the middle.
