I'll brainwash you, Noola. biggrin.gif

Would you?

Stay as Noola, stay in Celest but if you want a new guild, go Pally ninja.gif

Well, I'm really thinking I want a change is all. Staying in the city but changing guilds - would that be enough of a change? Not sure. Any way I go though, it prolly won't be into any of the knight guilds. I'm the uber suck as a fighter. laugh.gif

Going from Aqua to Cantor was enough change to keep me playing for another year tongue.gif Other then that I had been really considering Glomdoring for a while (but not anymore)... but I'm still glad I stayed in Celest!

I know it's kind of crazy, but I just feel the need, since I've been away so long and all, to start over somewhere (with Noola though!) and build myself back up from CR1 and GR1 someplace completely different. And I know it'll cause all sorts of IC difficulties for Noola, but that's half the fun! Really, I'm leaning the most towards Magnagora but with Glomdoring in a close second.

Hey!

Ok, so once again real life reared up and took over, and I was unexpectedly made absent from all things Lusternia. I've beaten the beast back though and am returning. Question is, what to do with Noola?

I want to play Noola, but I'm not sure that it's a good idea since I've flaked twice on the Aquas. Maybe I should move her? Start her over somewhere completely new? Or maybe it's best I give up on her completely and make someone totally new - though I did put a lot into Noola so I'm not sure this is a good option for me at all.

I dunno. sad.gif

Anyway, hey again everyone! female.gif

If you want to change, change. But make sure it's a class you like. Do some research into their skills and the basic member types, maybe make a brief "test" alt or two. Burn your bridges behind you, if you like. Then cause mountain chains to appear ontop of them.

(Or, hey, you could join Magnagora, go ur'guard, wait until you snap from people howling at you, leave, and I'll adopt you. MORE CARTHANS. MUST HAVE MORE CARTHANS. Also creepy Noolanimals.)
Revan2007-10-08 01:15:05
Noola, msg me in game and we'll figure something out smile.gif
Kharaen2007-10-08 01:16:52
Glomdoring's actually pretty good right now. I don't hate anyone there, which means it has to rock. And Shayle'll bring out the shadowdancer cheerleaders.

I've had alts in just about every guild in the game (except the new monky ones, but I bet they're a lot like the knight ones in their fighting expectations, course I could be completely wrong on that) actually... and enjoyed them all cept the few times I tried Knight guilds and that's just cause I can't fight and I felt WAY too much pressure to fight. Every other guild there were other things one could do to have an enjoyable and productive time it seemed.

So, no go on the ur'guard, unfortunately. I've never even been brave enough to TRY that one! laugh.gif

Plus, Noola's already got a family! tongue.gif (though one never knows how a forced marriage - maybe via some sort of love-potion might work into a brain-washing scenerio or something. dunno.gif )

Now that the real tools are busy playing alts or gone, most of the remaining ur'guard are fairly pleasant. They still order you around, but it's fairly pleasant. You'd like Bhairan, I suspect. He's a bit like Arilyon - not a bastard about being in power, but doesn't really hesitate to use it. Plus there is Ethelon and Murphy, who is a stoner (how else is he always that calm?) and a drunken Australian, respectively. I never felt that much pressure to fight, and I don't think the novices do, either. Or maybe it was just because it was me and people were fairly "hands off". Of course, I'm sure "RAWR, YOU DO AS I SAY, WORM, REGARDLESS OF THE WAY IT AFFECTS YOUR PLAY EXPERIENCE. IT'S ROLEPLAY AND YOU WILL SUCK IT UP EVEN IF IT CAUSES YOU TO QUIT." people will surface eventually, but the current rank and file aren't that bad. Trryyy it.

Edit: And also try the Paladins, if you don't want to change city. Or the Tahtetso. They're both a lot different than the Aquamancers, and the Celestines, in that they don't have much in terms of passives. INquisition, that peace thing monks have.. the mechanical change is what will really do it for you. Any guild will have different roleplay, but the way your skills work makes it feel different.

(And you'd have to fight my fiance to force-marry me. She fights dirty.)

Oh, it's not so much getting ordered around (though of course in excess it gets old), it's the general "You can't fight so you're completely worthless" vibe I've gotten from my brief forays into knight guilds.
Unknown2007-10-08 03:35:49
I'll be honest, when I -was- (was being the key word) a Paladin, fighting was optional. Yes, it got you guildranks quicker. But you can easily choose a path that's not fighting in a group or being forced to fight. On the other side of the scale, the Paladins -were- considered the defenders of New Celest.

And, there's still the Cantors! We supply instruments at guildrank 3, quite probably from Aison (since she's complaining about us not buying stuff from her), and the other good news is that Bards are rarely -if ever- asked to fight.
Fionn2007-10-08 03:43:09
Well, wherever you go, have fun. At least this time around the Aquamancers won't come to a screeching halt and stay stuck. tongue.gif

Yeah.... losewings.gif and whatever I do, I'll be staying clear of anything more important than maybe eventually, after I work up to it, an aide and/or undersec position so as to avoid being the cause of future halting and stuckness. err.gif

Ok... how come I had to reregister? And with an email? Weird.
Shiri2007-10-08 05:49:22
Was a change in the way they keep systems registered a while ago, or something.
Zalandrus2007-10-08 05:58:24
Come and join the Tahtetso! The guild has a gr advancement system that's very innovative (at least, I think it is), and the people are generally nice and fun!! Monk combat is cool too. It's so fun to see such a spammy screen when you bash (until you die, that is)

And, to make up for the lost free instrument, join the Tahtetso and I'll design a custom artisan item for you? Just give me a theme and a pattern and we'll work something out tongue.gif
Arix2007-10-08 06:09:03
You could join the Geomancers, then you wouldn't lose too much skillwise
