well i started playing lusternia about 3 days ago. i was thinking last night about an idea for a new type of MUD that would appeal to all gamers. i know that u guys like the whole text based theme, and so do i, but i cant help being a little confused even when i have a map in front of me, and my imagination isnt THAT strong . the idea that i have is still in its early stages but it goes something like this:
a MUD that has graphics like Diablo II (or even better?), with a simple area map in the top right hand corner and a textfield for input at the bottom of the screen like normal MUDs.
players move from room to room kinda like the MMORPG dofus. essentially u move thru rooms like normal text based MUDders do, but with arrows or something like that, that show the player the direction of the next room, and they have to then walk over that arrow to get the next room loaded.
text based MUDders and graphics based MUDders will be able to play the same MUD together(i.e. theres a graphics plugin for lusternia, so that we can choose whether to play using text or graphics AND text).
able to right click on denizens and other players and a set of actions pop up (i know theres tons of commands in MUDs but obviously only a few basic and/or most used commands will be shown). or they can simply use the textfield to perform actions like text based MUDs. like say i enter a shop; i could either right-click on the merchant and go to WARES, or i could type WARES in the textfield and a list would pop up showing what wares are avaliable.
those are just a few basic ideas so far. heres a picture to give u a rough idea of what i mean (love paint u must enlarge the picture because some things arent shown in the small version properly):

Are people still taught what 'literally' means? Yet another 2d mmorpg isn't going to send rioters down the streets, I fear.
On a completely different note, Dofus is indeed a gorgeous little game.

Wonder what you'll think of this.

He forgot to mention that the name of the Game would be Revolution
and Dofus is indeed great, specially since it is made in flash.
