• The people. 'Nuff said.
• The History. Far more indepth than that of any other IRE game, IMHO, and virtually ever single little area is integrated with the overarching story of Lusternia somehow. And we don't have any races that come from different planets *coughXorancough*
•We have all sorts of nice things that nobody else has. e.g: Aetherspace, Constructs, influence.
•Everything just fits. As I've said, it all fits in with the story, but also there's an almost perfect symmetry between the different orgs. Every guild has its counterpart, ever skillset has it's opposite. Even most of the areas have an area opposed to them. It's the ingrained symmetrical conflict that permeates the whole game realm, and I love it.

I think Forum newbies need to see what amazing things Lusternia has...so lets show them!
First and most important, Doman...'nuff said. Nah! Just Kidding
I think the greatest thing about Lusternia is the city/commune unity...You can't live without it

Fixed.
And yes, people make Lusternia rock. The conflict of Lusty also comes to mind.

Game world + people + combat system/scripting.

1) Glomdoring. This is probably the big reason I came to Lusternia to begin with. It is a tremendously unique concept in fantasy games in general and IRE in particular. Everything about it is thick with atmosphere, story, and depth. Granted, it's sort of in a weird place right now, but there are plenty of people who are well acquainted with what makes Glomdoring so special who are still around (and should be around more, btw).
2) If you are interested in RP, and by that, I mean telling a story larger than yourself, you can always find people interested in doing that, and if they're interested in doing that, they're also usually pretty good at it.

Everyone plays for different reasons, but my reasons for sticking around are:
1. The people. Have made some interesting friends in Lustie.
2. The guild rp and unity of the Paladins.
3. Combat is fun. Always changing, very intricate. Fun!
4. Terentia's Order
5. Village revolts are probably the only meaningful conflict left and an unique concept overall.

Funny, was about to point out that you miss Terentia's order in your list, silly edits.
Edit:
Sadly though, the last two village revolts weren't really fair, so I've heard.

I started playing Lusternia because of the Influence system, and the spreading skill trees.
I don't really benefit from either of those anymore, but I'm still hooked to the story.

Great place to meet and find friends for a lifetime.

I love Lusternia because of the oodles of additional paperwork I get to do here. Whenever I've had enough of my biology, environment, or other 'real life' assignments, I'll just hop onto Lusty and tweak some internal guild structures, write new help files, calculate guild finances, and offer hour long lectures and lessons to newbies. Whee!

I'm probably going to end up repeating people, but here are the reasons I like Lusternia.
1) People. One of the main reasons I ended up coming back after quitting wasn't because I was dying to bash, or raid, or play with skills, or do whatever. It was because I absolutely love the people you can meet and talk to here. I like..pretty much everyone that plays this game (maybe not ICly because Veonira is antisocial and a but...yeah )
2) The histories and RP overall. It goes beyond just the idea of a fantasy world and good versus evil. What I really love about Lusternia is the fact that there's no -clear- good and evil. The tainted are "victims" of their situation, and we aren't just all about pain and blood and demons, we've adopted the idea that taint = change and progression, which I think is awesome. On the same idea, a Celestian can be someone who is bloodthirsty and fanatical about killing the tainted, which is actually worse than what a lot of Magnagorans play as.
3) The RP of Magnagora. The environment of the city is so immersive, especially with recent changes.
4) You can actually make a difference. I remember playing Achaea and chances were unless you were an awesome fighter or were just really loud, most people would never know who you were and really didn't care. The playerbase is small enough that everyone almost knows each other after a certain amount of time, but large enough to not get dull. You have the ability to really mold the world around you if you work at it.
5) Huge variety of things to do. If you're interested in fighting there are tons of opportunities. It's "easy" to be a pacifist (depends on the organization I suppose) with influencing, so you can still earn levels without fighting. You can write and publish things and be a librarian or aide if you're interested in that, or design things.
6) Cartels! Other games you have to buy licenses which can be cool because you are able to have more than one trade...but they are something like 200 credits and you don't have the variety of patterns you do here. I like how you get the trade for free if you want to put the lessons in.

1. Roleplay. I've tried other systems for roleplaying, but Lusternia is BY FAR the best, because of the truly immersive world where your character can really be defined and immersed in an alternate reality.
2. Combat. The thing I love best about this is the fact that you can feel yourself improving over time, and as you learn new strategies for surviving and killing, the system just seems to open up. The combat possibilities are, as far as I can see, practically limitless.
3. People. I've got to stick it in somewhere. It's pretty much implied by #1, because without the atmosphere generated by all these people who are invested in the game, the roleplaying would be pointless.
4. Ok, so this might not appeal to as many people, but I for one -love- coding my system. I love the way it comes together, how you start out with just these input lines and eventually create a magnificent machine to beat all the rest. Yeah!
Ultimately, the thing that makes Lusternia great is that you can do pretty much anything. And you can do it magnificently.

Bashing is fun and morbidly addictive.
Only because you keep eating the corpses, engendering morbid obesity.
I come for the service, but-ah I stay for the leg room.
