Wth is this 'blessing of the Elder Gods' thing about?
It's that facebook thing which gives you an experience boost (5%, I think) whenever you achieve something special.

Doesn't sound like you think it does what it does, though I could be wrong.
All it means is that if you have a random throwaway facebook account linked to your character, whenever you get elected, hit a new level, win an FFA/etc., you get a tiny 5% experience boost for a little while (a day?) Doesn't have anything to do with your privacy or "achieving for your facebook."

Facebook has a history of horrible privacy practices and I do not use it on principle. I feel a little put off about the 5% bonus not coming to myself because of not wanting to use facebook. Meh, just chalk it up to a bad day and move on.

I don't bother with it either. Don't feel left out!
(There was a big thread about it when it was put up, Estarra noted that she didn't realize there was this much Anti-Facebook-Feeling amongst some of the playerbase, there was some discussion on the phrasing of the post, a few apologies/etc. were handed out, and now it's just not something generally discussed much. You don't really need the thing if you don't want it!)
