This is why I love living in Britain. Having no literal constitution document means that all the rules (even important ones like Separation) are superseded by the most important one of all - Don't Be So Bloody Stupid. This is yet another victory for that rule.
In theory, anyway.
That freaking out about clubs thing sounds bizarre. For all the fuss they're making about seperation of church and state, you'd think they could actually apply it where it matters!

Eh, can I be adopted by Britain? Pretty please?
Anyways, I think snackfoods would be decent to add. I know that I used to fall asleep in class and that a Twix or sommat would probably keep me awake long enough to fool the teacher that I was paying attention. Regarding the whole Seperation of Church and State, my school allowed us to have study groups, but didn't allow us to go out of our way with flyers or too much to say we were there. We could talk to people, but not hand out flyers.
The main problem with some groups is that if they aren't carefully lead, they end up becoming a disaster. A group of kids wanting to learn self defense can easily end up being a school yard gang. When it comes down to personal matters which usually ends up between you and your commanding entity/deity/foodstuff/technology, you really can't step in a say "Hey, tone it down." Not without serious backlash. Most schools are very, very careful about things like that.
I also support schools weighing kids, and should they be over weight, give them an extra gym class or sommat.

Careful application of the DBSBS rule is important in such situation, Jigan. For example, schools weighing kids to see if they're overweight!? Preposterous! They're allowed to be overweight if they want, and, for that matter, define overweight. Just offer extra gym classes to everyone and divide them by "ability" - ie, weight. If people want to lose weight, they'll join the class for fatties and shed it. If they don't, it's their choice.
