I'm a poor poor aquamancer down on his luck. How do I fix that?!
Diamondais2007-10-21 03:31:14
Rat. Always an easy way, although tedious and long.
Unknown2007-10-21 03:43:50
Very long indeed! I'm looking at a several thousand peice bill!
Unknown2007-10-21 03:49:50
Go to the tidal flats and dig for clams. 50 each and an extra 1000 per dozen.
Noola2007-10-21 04:12:21
Go walking around the roads and mountains, find wandering pilgrims, bards and scholars and take em where they want to go. Each one will give you 100 gold.

This post wins the "worst advice given on the forums, ever" award. (Sorry Dylara!)

Ratting is a really bad way of making money. Do quests.

Aww, ratting isn't that bad. It's just time consuming. In a choice between ratting and quests, I'd choose ratting - but then I'm horrible at quests. laugh.gif

edit: Except for commodity quests. And the pilgrim/bard/scholar ones I mentioned earlier. Those are easy-peasy. So, yeah, do some commodity quests! laugh.gif

Kill pythons in Verasavir and Balach, then turn them in to the taurian leatherworker for 500 gold apiece.

Oh wait, Krellan didn't want me to tell people that

I find that I agree with you more and more. Scary, isn't it?

Well. Sadly, ratting/weevils is an easy way although terribly tedious to make enough to get a potion so you can go do something far more productive.

Person never said how bad they were down. wink.gif

If you don't hate mapping, you could try training rockeaters in Dairuchi. 1000 gold per rockeater isn't bad pay at all.

If you've got up to supplication in influence, though, you could influence the monks in the Tosha Monastery as well.
Unknown2007-10-21 19:41:01
The things Anae mentioned are the best I think. Also could try the Estlebar quest depending on your org.
Unknown2007-10-21 20:52:21
Here's the way to make money:

Snakes respawn rather quickly and are 500 gold per one. There are seven in Balach and two in Verasaavir. People who kill the leatherworker should be crucified.

Acknor's quest is very easy, can be solved in 2 minutes and gives 3000 gold. Respawns often.

Other village quests are easy to do too, but respawn slower. Delport and Shanthmark require you to gather stuff from outside the villages, same for Estelbar (unless you're a decent influencer). Dairuchi and Angkrag pay rather bad but are done only sporadically.

Pilgrims, scholars, bards - if you walk quickly (hint: turn your numeric keypad into a movement pad!), you can round 'em up in a short time and the money isn't bad. They give karma too.

In terms of the hunt - orcs, aslaran/krokani, gorgogs. Pick a target depending on your level, guild/race combo and confidence.

If you're desperate, return chickens to coops or pick up hay and round up stray cows. Much less effort than ratting, better rewards, and you don't get a bad taste in your mouth.

There is a little place underneath the Basin of Life full of gold. It's even called the 'Vault!

EDIT: I lost my sanity. Please take this post with a pinch of salt. I'll get better. Maybe.

I'm pissed about people giving "rats" as an answer. Really - the f**** Nexus Worlds are better than rats. I have bad experience with retards in Achaea who were telling newbies to rat while they were much better alternatives! Such people can't think outside of the box, and in their cases the box is very small and cramped! It's the same kind of people who support all the hoops you have to jump through in other IRE muds to not be kicked from your guild/house!

*frothing mouth*
Gwylifar2007-10-21 22:44:49
Might not be Achaeans. Might be Aetolians. Ratting is even more the One True Way To Make Money there (or it was in my day, maybe things have changed) since creatures didn't even drop gold.
