I have to say I prefer this system more than the Ascended God event we had, not to say that Soll didn't do a great job but it just wasn't tied into the history of Lusternia like Vernal Gods. I'm just curious as how levels work for a Vernal Ascendant, do they immediately skip up levels to Vernal Ascendant? Or do you have to be a Demigod first in order to raise into a Vernal Ascendant?

You don't get to say "bad" and "Philip K. Dick" in the same sentence. It's fundamentally inconsistent.

I'm told they skip the levels, but I can't be sure.

Ya, I think so too, I think you can be level 10 and then poof ascendant as long as you can convince people to invest 1mil power into you getting that.
I need to hear more about the ascendant stuff before I can get a clear pic of it, I will go back all these pages and see if they have any light shed for me on it.
I do think, that it is time to retire those damn seal symbols (aka the free 2600 credit ones that act like a circlet and a cubix that have extra exits to all the karma seal rooms), that or make the people who have them pass them on to others. Since I don't think they should be permanent for anyone. The winners of the first ascension event made out alot better than ol soll did actually just by winning those seals/amulet thingies. Time to pass them on, retire them or something. (Of course I expect every person who has one to say HELLZ NO!!!) But this idea may not be covered under this ascension thread.

So if they skip levels I assume they get all the free lessons and bound credits all at once? That seems a little weird... I think it would be better if only Demigods are able to be raised into Vernal Ascendants as only Demigods' spark is developed enough to hold 1 million power from a Nexus. However, I can see how True Ascendants would be able to skip all those levels so I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Now thats what I am not sure of since it isn't true demigod hood, so say if you became an ascended one, then you lost it (be it replaced or whatever) I think you would end back up at the original level you were prior to becoming one. Now I am just guessing, but that would seem what would be proper. You ascended, you didn't work your way to demigod.

I'm really disappointed. This is way too OP for Celest. The Admin just keep catering the the whiners and loudmouths of that city while they continue to just dominate and crush. Now they get an ascendant? gg Lusternia... I'm out of here.
And you still don't play Halo with me
Shiri2007-10-19 01:35:20
Making it demigods only would be really bad, because it takes many many many days of (boring to lots of people) effort to get there.
Genos2007-10-19 01:37:55
Yes, but if they skip up to Vernal Ascendant how are they supposed to get lessons and credits from going up in levels? For instance, it didn't make a difference with the Ascended God because skills didn't really matter for him but Vernal Ascendants still have the same skills and would therefore benefit from the lessons.

I don't know if people who ascend to Vernal Ascendants skip all the levels but--
Tradeoff, a good one at that. You are, after all, circumventing the investment of time needed to become a Demigod. If you don't want to waste those lessons and credits, you'd spend the time bashing to Demigod.

Phillip K. Dick-esque, then.
Xenthos2007-10-19 01:48:34
Even if you don't get the lessons/levels from it, it can be assumed that anybody who would be voted for will be over level 70, so will not be missing out on any bound credits. Missing out on a handful of lessons isn't such a bad thing, really. The Divine Order restriction would be more, even if this is the case (and I think it adds something to the position, so it's not just a "give it to me!" spot).

Right, I was just bringing up an issue I saw with the new system. I agree that it really isn't a big deal and any potential candidates would have to choose one way or the other.

Oh, dear me. I feel like a guy in a bad Phillip K. Dick novel who can see the future, but can't choose between the zillions of alternatives presented. My troll self is... torn!
It's funny how Dick had a decent number of novels that were absolute genius, and then a ton that were total crap. Reading through them was like flipping a coin as to whether the next one would be readable or not.

I think Ascendants should be a race of their own.... none of this "Human ascendant" or crap. Let them have their own stats and adv/disadvs. it would make them truly unique and exciting to play.

Bad idea, Tekals are awful on Aetolia we don't need an equivolent here with incredibly minor rp attached. In histories all vernals retain their race, which should be part of pride for race in question, the fact Viscanti have no vernals shows this well i think.

Viscanti weren't around when the Vernal Gods were.
Gabranth2007-10-19 02:26:32
I know, I read alot when I first started here. Most vernals were Merian which gives credibility to Merian supremacy in Celestian Empire. Which could be continued with ascendants.

Okay, I didn't read all of this, cause I currently just don't have the time, I really like the idea of the ascendents, but for the real ascendents, the true ones, is this gonna be something I gotta get my homeboy into a city for? Cause if so, I totally hate the idea and it seems too open to admins saying, "Hey, this guy should be a god" instead of the dude or girl just passing the challenges and ascending.

You pass the challenges to get a chance.
You then have to fight to prevail.
If you have no allies, your fighting will be kind of poor.
