This man speaks the truth. Minus the world tarot being useless. I use it to mess with newbies some time.

And torture is nice if they are aeoned. Bleeding out the wazoo if you do it twice.

What does World even do? I've never seen anyone use it before. I'm guessing it's not like Universe or it would be more common(?)

Also on the topic of cheapness, bards can regenerate their health/ego/possibly mana depending on your org specialization, so you can also save on healing/mana/bromide potions! It's SO GREAT!

Go Aqua and with your staff you can recover all 3 stats - and even push them 20% above max. All it costs is some willpower endurance (sorry) for the TWIRL and 1 power to SUMMON every IG year or so. With twirl I have a bit over 4000hp (about even with Gadritan before he surges - and he's higher level than Denust). It won't help your PvP all that much, but it makes bashing much easier especially if you can meld and put up Healspring.

Lasts something like 1 minute, costs 5 power, makes it so that certain things fling go through shield.

Wow, that sucks. Shattering/Nullifying shield would be faster, wouldn't it?

It was originally so that tarot cards could be thrown at someone if they were in your local area, but I believe it was envoyed to be changed so that it'd go through shields..

Either way, as a tarot using Celestine I really never used it. Too much power for such a temporary defense when I needed 8 for absolve, or was otherwise using heretic, etc.

He is, however, not going to hit anything with inept combat. Well, I suppose he might hit someone with expert or lower.

That's debated, and I've yet to see any actual numbers on it. I suspect it is only a rumor that higher combat increases your chances to-hit. My warrior is at inept combat right now and trans BC, and doesn't have a ton of trouble hitting anyone. Someday if I get a bunch of credits, I'll test to find out for sure, but in any case trans combat isn't a necessity in my brief experience.
Xavius2007-10-31 00:45:17
Hit rate is constant for all warriors with a weapon spec. That change went in ages ago.
Yrael2007-10-31 00:50:19
Ah. So it was luck that I couldn't thit Eilar more than once with inept combat over about two minutes of swinging (no stance/parry) and could after trans?

Just to comment...

I'd strongly recommend avoiding Druid (at least Hartstone) if you're looking for a good early level PvP experience without huge investment.

I'm of mixed opinion about knight/warrior. It's bloody expensive (in terms of gold) to set up in terms of equipment and such, and the 'hitting stuff' problem is there. Plus, with the new repair changes, you're going to have to constantly get someone with forging to repair stuff, or take it yourself up to repair - this is a hidden cost.

Yes, but Staff is pretty high up - Roulade (ego), MinorThird (health) and BardicPresence (ego above max) are all low abilities in Music.

This is post of gabranth asking for help for what is the better guild. So I said monks are amazing and recommend it wholeheartedly. And I would like to point out that

1. You dont even know if i had a monk somewhere.. seriously, it takes 5min to create an alt.
2. So you dont recommend being monk?
2.1. If you dont because you played monks once and then gave up cause it sucks, then ok
2.2. If you dont but you still spend most of your time being a monk: Some issues are in there i think.

1. I make that assumption based on the fact that many of your statements are incorrect. Based on the things you are saying, you have apparently not been a monk for any length of time.
2. I recommend it for certain people, but not for everyone. In this case, I would recommend warrior over monks.
2.1 Nope, I'm still a monk.
2.2 I have also been a Moondancer, a Geomancer, and a Warrior, all with low skills and with trans skills. I've done low and high-level bashing as Moondancer, Geomancer, and Monk (only up to level 60 or so as a warrior), and I think I'm in a pretty good place to make a fair comparison based on more than just what I've seen other people do.
2.3. If you have never been a monk but like the way they look and suggest that they are amazing at everything based on that and no experience, I think there are some issues there.

Back to the point, Gabranth, Monks are a lot of fun, but I like warrior as well I think you would enjoy it. You could also transfer relatively easily from necromancy warrior to acrobatic monk - knighthood (melee) > kata (melee), athletics (fitness) > acrobatics (fitness). You'd only have to pay the full cost to go from necromancy > stealth, which I assume will be communion like Harmony. It might be a good midway class until Mag monks come out.
