so Forren you mean to tell me that you're working out the odds of that happening instead of being out playing with college girls?

I just got back from a party.
If you have a 33% chance, ten times, it's 1/3^10

Not with the way Lusties random calculation seems to work.

Assuming complete randomness. Random number generators are not completely random.

3am where he is too, all the bars closed about 1 hour ago, the afternight bars should have good and drunk girls, plus the ones catching the bus back to their dorms. It should be prime pickup time, the girls got their own beer-goggles on, so even if Forren looked like a troll, he should have at least a 33% chance to score, or even 1/59049 chance to score 10 times in a row tonight

33% sometimes turns into 10 times in a row, so it should be good enough.
Good enough for what?

As a skill, it is not as insane as it was at first, they fixed it from I think 50% down to 33% because 50% was too high, especially because of what Ashteru and Forren said about random generating. So good enough as a skill, quite good enough for Tarot (which is what it was probably truly designed for since it was released pre-glamours)

Don't need to tell me, dude, I am a CompSci Major too. Taking my Cisco and Sun certificates this year too, actually.
But yeah, I'd really love to know how random is calculated here. It seems the bad things (stupidity, cantorstuff, all other things having a chance of hitting when moving) have a far higher chance to hit the first two, three times than implied.

Unfortunately, you can't assume this-- because, as you said, they're not completely random.

Are they inaccurate to make the odds significantly (and noticeably) better than 1 in 60000? I am going to guess "no."

Actually, you'll notice that stupidity has a far higher chance than 25% to hit on the first command.

No, however, it is streaky. This means that there's a good chance of getting a bunch in a row, despite the odds (and then going a while without any). It simply means that quoting actual odds against getting a streak of 10 or whatever is pretty pointless, since it's not at all Lusternian-odds (once you get the first one, there's a higher chance of getting a large streak than the numbers imply).

The first log I have mercy, a highfavour, gifted magic, and angelic aura if that affects magic damage.
The second log I have all of the above, plus my damage boost song, my health regen song, and my splendor robes.
The first log it takes 2:40 of constant minorseconding to get myself down into the red, and thats if I start using sparkles and heal scroll at 3k health (a little over half of my max).
The second log after over 3 minutes, I'm hovering between the green and yellow zone.
Without the damage song, my champ lute added 29 damage.
With the damage song, my lute adds nothing.
The envoys are working to remove the stun from blanknote, and if that goes through, through constant minorseconding and blanknoting, 0 progress will be possible, because as you can see at the end of the first log, I healed myself to near full in 6 seconds.
None of this would be a huge issue if we had a way to slow down curing, but we don't. I could be missing something, but I ask if we have some way to slow curing down, and no one has volunteered anything helpful yet.
I also hear that its taking us a lot longer to kill mobs (Shric says 3 more hits per lobstrosity), but I haven't confirmed this myself.
Unknown2007-10-20 17:24:17
Roark already said that you don't do as much damage when targeting yourself with attacks as you do to other people. Get a different test subject.
Ymbryne2007-10-20 17:33:34
Weren't Champ artifacts just meant to be able to rescue people anyway? I don't see why Champions, who are assumedly the best combatant within the guild at the time, need a boost beyond that.
