1v1 they're quite easy.
Aren't they all?
QUOTE(Acrune @ Oct 21 2007, 11:41 AM) 452060
All true, but I figured as a trill with low-ish health and Celestine with low damage, they'd be rough.
I agree with Acrune for the above and because hit-and-run usually isn't worth it. Takes more time to get a couple percent from an astral mob that you hit-and-run than a few percent from several prime mobs (which are usually worth more gold than the astral mob drops). Of course, this is assuming that you are a low enough level that you need to hit and run in the first place.

Eagles are lethal, ignore Acrune.
Eagles are easy. What you do is: Link. Wait for eagle. Fly. Let eagle come up, you poke at it a couple of times. It then lands, giving you a few moments to regain health balance / balance / eq / cure deafness / sparkle balance / etc. Works pretty well, since they're only in the air about half the time, if you can't tank astral mobs straight out.
It's like hit-and-run, only they do the running.

I think some of the linked eagles won't play that game. At least some didn't when I was ably to fly.

I cleaned up a mess of them the other day using that. None of them refused to play with me. Perhaps it just didn't spawn the chasers when the person overlinked and fled/died.

Could someone summarize which linked mobs are the easiest (for a lv79 mugwump with Trans Resilience)? Caaause, I'm getting kind of tired just hunting unlinked mobs, when I know I could be racking in much more experience with linked ones (... the linked do give more exp, right?)
Enero2007-10-21 18:45:21
Linked ones doesn't give more experience I think (at least if they do, everyone's been keeping it a secret from me), you just get more of them than you normally would.
I personally find linked mitrans to be the easiest ones. Followed by fesixes. I'm slightly lower level and Mythical reisilience, but with a TF and con platter I get around 6k health which allows me to take on two linked mitrans without big headache... although they differ in strenght, so one day will be their day I guess, heh.

If you consider unlinked mobs, you will always get "quite powerful" or "extraordinarly strong." It depends upon the type of mob.
Linked mobs will give, randomly:
exudes an aura of overwhelming power
has an air of extreme strength
looks to be crushingly strong
appears to be extraordinarily strong
is quite powerful
Some linked mobs are worth over four times as much as unlinked mobs.

Holy poop on a stick, I can't believe this... well, not that it has kept be away from linking them buggers, so it's cool!
SOrry for giving wrong information though. And I'm off to Astral.

I prefered fesixes far more then mitrans in my weaker days, because fesixes don't hunt you down at the node 3 seconds after you link them like mitrans do. Now I like mitrans because I'm lazy and I don't have to leave the node unless there are 3-4 of them on me

At lower levels, it's probably more profitable to just hunt Prime. Even if Astral linked gives you more experience per mob, chances are you'll only be able to link 2-3 times before you need to go around clearing. With the way linking works, Astral really only becomes profitable when you can link numerous times (or just permalink).

So would you recommend I hunt somewhere else Salvation? I'm a Trill Celestine, level 76 health 3720.
Also any opinions on going human? Would it really help me alot? I just really want to get to 85 or so probley.

-I- got to 85 solely on gorgogs...if you know their respawn times, they're awesome bashing.
By all means, try Astral. If it doesn't work out to be as profitable as you would like, Illithoids should be nice (or so I've heard from Serens/Celestians).

Do you think I should try gorgogs with my health?
Acrune2007-10-22 00:14:11
I killed them as a merian with less health back in my aqua days, but I used a lot of reflections, and every now and then one would still get me. Might want to sip vitae to see if you can do it, just in case. You'll likely have to hit and run.
Callus2007-10-22 08:03:08
I should start bashing UV... But I got discouraged when I entered through Shallach, and the UV's side-creatures (which, as logic dictates, should be lame) almost killed me. Fire weakness ftl.
vorld2007-10-22 12:42:46
you can enter the undervault through shallach? how?
