Probably because they're only good for Pureblades and Pureblades have better options. They aren't bad, see: Hyrtakos. But they aren't the greatest.

10% accuracy increase not really that good. Dexterity is low which, correctly or not, causes some to disregard them. Additionally equilibrium slower and poor int for surge. Krokani are similar with less resists but consequently fewer weaknesses, as well as more dex. Taurian and lobo similarly superior. Problem with orclach is that, like tae'dae, they're a more extreme race. Many resistances but trade off in poorer stats. Slower eq, like sip penalty, causes negative stigma.

Actually, Orclach are pretty sweet with Night. Just need a slew of passive stuff. Always were too untanky for me, though. For a better race, see kawaii.

Orclach perhaps not as used thanks to lower dex?
But I forgot. Dex is meaningless.

They only have 1 less point in Dex than Taurian. Hardly crippling, I'd say.

Honestly, it's only because Orclach are inescapably ugly.
I bet the Serenguard regularly has more faeling and furrikin novices than taurian and orclach.

You bet.

So I'm a Tae'Dae warrior now... and I have to admit the slowness thing is killing me. I love the damage output (I'm a PB), but I am really thinking about switching to something else.
I think it's down to Lobo or Krokani (I'm Paladin)... which of the two would be the best for someone who's flat broke and new to the whole thing?

Taurians are a true work of beauty.

You lose Baby-Tae respect points!

First off... you can see how amazing being an orclach is with all the jealousy swelling up within the inferior races. "Inescapably ugly", to quote made me laugh, but don't they all wish.
Stats-wise... the biggest downside is obviously the int and eq penalty. I was up to level 80, and with the old succumb (it's nowhere near as bad now) people, without doing anything else, stood about a 5% chance of killing me with just "succumb, wait for eq, toad." Surge... will be all but useless to you, but regeneration with boosting I always found worth it. Especially up on astral or messed up against another warrior or something... because it will tick on its own and you'll still need to sip up the health that surge would give you.
The eq penalty only is really a hinderance in certain situations, and very few of them in direct combat. The worst one was needing green or the highmagic equivalent to get out of truelocks before cleanse enchants could do it for you. Linking nodes, those sorts of power feats, and a handful of others are all you have to worry about... but in general it's rarely noticable.
