Pandora is the best thing ever for this sort of problem. Want angry music? It'll do that. Want mellow yet interesting music? Loud, industrial, lose-yourself-in-the-noise music? You get the idea.

I don't listen to anything particular when doing things in the game. Mostly, the TV is on. Sometimes I'm streaming XM Radio. Sometimes though, especially when I'm going somewhere or doing something where I have a very high chance of dying, I hum the Mission Impossible theme.
