Anyone have a list of afflictions given by the scroll of curses and moon tarot?
Ildaudid2007-10-25 17:18:01
Swollen knee
Charlie horse
and other useless afflictions...
Nah I don't know what they are, but I heard it was useless to use a curse scroll, so I am assuming that the afflictions must be a joke.

I don't know if he still does, but Thoros used to get a lot of good use out of his curse scroll as a Celestine. It is situationally useful; if you have someone held down and just want to stack a load of afflictions quickly, it does pretty well. It's not incredible mostly because you can't control what afflictions they get, and they're not all that amazing anyway, but they do at least stack cures with other (more useful) afflictions. I used to use a curse scroll when I had someone stuck in aeon with a couple of good afflictions. My choices were either to draw more hexes to try to waste herb cures, or use a curse scroll to stack things up. It works especially well with lower-tier fighters who get scared easily when they see all of those afflictions.

Moon tarot = confusion, stupidity, hypersomnia. This is off the top of my head - I haven't checked my system for it yet.

Isn't curse scroll basically charybdon in a book? At least that's what I've thought up til now.
Krellan2007-10-26 03:34:44
No, I'm pretty sure you can get afflictions outside of poisons.

Lemme get that info... And moon also can amnesia BTW Forren
Curse Scroll Affs(what I have on it):

Disloyal
Confusion
Vertigo
Epilepsy
NINJA NOTE: Thoughts on things like addiction, impatience, hallucinations and such being swapped for amnesia? Should stay all mental affs

Some people use quickened scroll reads before their burst offense, tends to work pretty well...especially if they get stupidity. I've seen Nihilists use it fairly effectively. 3 reads and a sting for 4 afflictions in a couple seconds. Not bad at all.

How about leaving it as is? Everything does not need to be upgraded in some way.

Kidding! Moon and scroll are fine as it, IMO

I wouldnt care if it did amnesia if I could tell what its doing.. but even trapped in aeon amnesia can cure if they try to act

Curse scroll list:
You are:
infected with scabies mites.
paralysed.
suffering from epilepsy.
suffering from amnesia.
sprawled on the ground.
unnaturally stupid.
an insomniac.
afraid of heights.
shivering.
has an aura of repugnance.
confused.
Moon tarot is confusion, stupidity, hypersomnia and amnesia.
This is the entire list. Note scroll of curses repeats the afflictions on the caster that they already have (for example, I had all these afflictions minus confusion, and it still took 5-7 more reads to get that last affliction.)
Curse scroll is useful as a pre-affliction starter, since you'll get a good number of afflictions. However as for something to folllow up on mid-fight, it is not reliable.
I used 4-5 reads with stinging/contagion as a nihilist pre-fight and it stacked a good number of afflictions pretty great. And as a Celestine, 4-5 reads then set angel and heretic w/aeon worked wonderfully.
