Heres an artifact idea, most things are obviously changable. This is meant for RP use.

-Givable only to a summoned loyal of the cosmic plane
-The given loyal cannot be slain or instantly reforms is worth no experience
-The given loyal can be targetted and refered to by the given name (ORDER )
-This loyal is considered actively sentient and may peform actions (TELL )
-If you change to the opposite city your angel/demon will turn to that cities cosmic loyal
-You cannot invest a loyal if you are not of a guardian guild
Not sure if I missed anything but basically this would let you make your angel/demon able to act and speak and such for whatever RP purpose you seek.

This is what pets are for, I think.
Also, ignoring the pets objection - why only cosmic beings? Wiccans have fae, you know.

You cant make a pet demon you can invest, this is meant to work on guild loyals, fae might be ok too. Wasnt sure though as some things (like maiden) might not be set well to it.
But I aint against it, this would let the few people that have cosmic loyal rp actually use it... I could make Simba act and talk and such for instance.

It's a cheaper, better version of pet.
Ildaudid2007-11-01 14:46:43
You wouldn't like it if I attached it to my hound. Then go monk, with a hound that clamps you. Just buy a pet, the whole thing about them dying and coming right back it kinda powerful. There is only one animal/pet that cannot be killed that does any type of non minimal damage attack and that is Geb's stupidity pet (think it is call broomhilda or something). The admins realized how powerful this pet was after Geb won it in an auction, and if you have noticed another pet like that has never ever been reauctioned. Now just imagine a pet that can't die that gives anorexia. Just too powerful to have.

You can already name loyal ents, or could at least. Jasper used to name his Slaugh.
-Givable only to a summoned loyal of the cosmic plane
What about the Handmaiden / Nil?
-The given loyal cannot be slain or instantly reforms is worth no experience
No.
-The given loyal can be targetted and refered to by the given name (ORDER )
Goes with the above-- they can (or could) already be named. Bashara had "Twentysix" for example.
-This loyal is considered actively sentient and may peform actions (TELL )
Longrange attack / dominations? Um.
-If you change to the opposite city your angel/demon will turn to that cities cosmic loyal
No. There's no real RP sense behind this-- the Supernals/Lords demand the bodies of their foes, not living captives to "transform" as far as I know. Otherwise, Celestians would be doing less killing and more sweet-talking into abandoning Nil to join the Light.
-You cannot invest a loyal if you are not of a guardian guild
What about Wiccans?
Very little of this is actually for RP purposes... or wouldn't really be used for RP purposes. The only bit that really would is the name, which I believe is already doable. I can check it when I get in-game for how they were doing the naming, but I believe it's something like 1000 gold.

I lol'ed when I saw how he snuck in the part about the pet not dying. course I was actually assumings this was purely RP. Others covered the good primary concerns. So I'll just give advice. Learn dramatics to ventriloquate. Should be able to make your demon talk.
@Xenthos the part about pet naming I never liked cause you have to rename it every time you summon/leave/it dies.

Doesn't work so well for Fae since there are a bunch of them, but if you want to name one (or an angel, or a demon), simply add it to a demonsummon/angelsummon/lovelyfaesummon alias. You can do it without the alias to just get it, or do it with the alias to get 1000 gold, summon the critter, and name it. Hopefully you can make 1000 gold in a login. It's certainly cheaper than 200 credits.
Xavius2007-11-02 02:56:48
Maybe just make angel/demon names stick through logout.
As far as needing talking ents...just no. My Achaean's angel had a personality as distinct as the character controlling the angel. Beata was one spiteful critter. All it takes is creativity.

Creslin2007-11-02 07:25:25
You could even have a different personality for each angel/demon (if you can keep it all straight), as you summon different ones each time (I think the list is finite, since I get repeat numbers.) Make a trigger when they're summoned to determine which it is and to print their name/name it, and some helpful information about them, even.
Of course, I'd prefer that we summoned the same angel each time, so it's more of an explicit pairing.

1) Not sure the name stays for angels/demons might remove when you recall
2) Didnt sneak in a cant die clause, it peaces on death so you dont just recall the thing instead
3) It does passive on its death so it will stop attacking
4) No long ranging it..
5) Wiccan fae would lose their ability to afflict if given it obviously
6) I dont care if they change to the other cities loyals, that change was in case of people complaining they couldnt change it.. they can leave it in their manse for all I care

wiccan fae lose their ability to afflict obviously?? and Demons/angels don't?
Eldanien2007-11-07 08:07:25
When they 'die'. Same with angels/demons, with this artifact. The idea is they don't actually die, but lose the ability to do anything besides RP until 'summoned' again.
This was one of my dream items as a Celestine. I would have gotten one with the few credit packages I bought, if something like this was made.
Though I think the arti should pop off if you change guild, losing the entity.

The original post says if you leave the guardians you cannot invest, which is how a demon/angel is made to afflict.
And it passives on 'death' so it wont just attack without end.

I think I recall somehwhere estarra said no to a similar idea because it would sorta defeat the purpose of the (More expensive) pets. That'd hurt IRE income and IRE = Business.
Besides you can already Customize your pet for 50 credits. You can change it's name and apearance. If you want more, get a pet!

I dont believe you can customize a summoned loyal and keep the changes. And name change is like 1K but has to be redone every summon or time it dies.
Oh and the main goal is more 1) let it talk and basic emote and 2) have a name. The not dyin isnt important as it was said IG by Simba they reform on Nil anyway

1000.
Though there was that "imp dressed in an archdemon's suit" that was around for a while.

I think it was Bricriu's, but I don't remember for sure. Some Nihilist had it as their archdemon summon for a while-- an imp dressed up like one.
