I could probably be bothered to update major areas for the cartographer line... I doubt any other map or editing could compare to Caffrey's work though.
I'll step forward to help out, though I doubt I can ever live up to him.

I've been altering the Serenwilde part of Caffrey's map to try and make the room locations more true to their actual locations (like having the collegium where it is instead of being shunted off to another place, and having the top of Moon Falls be next to the bottom of it.. It's really hard though, and it's shown me just how awesome Caffrey is.

I can't seem to click on any of Caffrey's attachments on the board here. His latest map here is not the same as the one currently on the web site, which has several areas not currently listed on the Lusternia one.

Try here.

If someone does want to continue my map in my style then FYI My process was this...
...map in Zmud (remember to note or indicate in/out because zmud doesn't. Also special exits. I also kept all rooms regardless of elevation on one zmud level to mirror the realm map which involved a lot of manual correction), zoom in/out and screenshot so that a room is exactly a 5 pixel square. (links are 7 pixels) paste into paint shop pro, reduce to 16 colours, remove zmud beveling, standardise background colour. Paste into main realm map, position, draw in links (pixel by pixel if needed), fill room colours, add labels.
For the format I always ensured:
No anti-aliasing on any added object or pasted content, colours kept at 256 to maintain clarity, lossless compression (gif or png). This gives maximum clarity for the size of rooms/links I chose. It should mean that, for instance, all link colours are black and the background colour should also be one standard colour. No jpeg or other compression artifacts and the limited colours makes moving stuff around later, work much, much better.
This process could be quite time consuming, I always did the layout of an area in zmud first because moving rooms around there is quicker, because it redraws the links for you, but merging into the main map could in some cases be quite a pain...
I'm sorry but I can't provide my zmud map, it is... quite a mess and wouldn't really help anyone. For instance, many serenwilde rooms still have no room names because it is an area I drew on paper back when lusty first opened and then added using the keyboard walk in the mapper.
I would seriously suggest someone consider doing their own style map, or approach it in a way that suits them best, rather than try to mimic my style. It suited me... it may not suit anyone else.
Best wishes
Caffrey.

Well, Soll has been applying his special brand of non-combat-XP-gain on me, recently. So, maybe, just maybe.
I have to say I'm disappointed that no one has picked up the torch yet.
I mean, not even using it to light a meth pipe...
But no, nothing.
For shame!

I was going to use it on my crack pipe, but then I remembered I don't smoke crack and it is a horrible habit to start.

Was anyone able to save the latest map before the new forums cleared it out?

I'm pretty sure this was it. At any rate, it's the most recent one I have saved. http://i.imgur.com/B4yGu.png

Thanks. As a note, this map doesn't have Raezon's Tower, The Orphanage, the Loathys Place, and the Eternity Labs. Please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone!

It's still there for me. If I could just...figure out how to upload the file to the forums...
Lendren2011-10-19 00:19:38
I could put it on the wiki except image uploads to the wiki have been broken for more than a year... and I have pretty much stopped doing wiki maintenance too. But it would have been an ideal place for it. Maybe Xiel's got it on his? Or if not, would?

I saved it to my photobucket, but hopefully this will work.
Edit: Ack, tiny preview, but at least it's downloadable. Here's the link instead.
