So how do you get them?

I'm not about to spend money on a free game, so I use gold. What about you?

Both!

Course, there's also the Bardic/Artisanals, don't forget those! I'm hoping I get a few for that this month.

I spend the money on credits if I have extra. Mostly I earn them IG through contests or other things, though.

credit card happy.gif

I used to think i will not pay money for a free game. but credtis are cheap actually. for the price of a big mac or watching a movie you can have lots.. and right now i dont watch movies anymore cause im spending all my time in lusternai so.. might as well redirect some moolah their way..

of course, i have my limits too.. right now im not gonna buy any for a long time i think.. it makes bashing more enjoyable as the gold i get, hence the possible credits.. are additional things to look forward to..

Earned through IC and OOC means, but no actual $$ spent on Lusternia (or Achaea) yet. yum.gif
Veonira2007-11-07 01:32:34
You can hunt and earn gold and buy them. Many cities/guilds have credit sales from time to time as well, and of course there are the bardic/artisinals.

A lot of my credits have come from those things, as well as random contests in cities/guilds and some of the basin-wide contests like quizzes and things when they have them.

You can always win thousands upon thousands like me IG.

smile.gif

Um yea and there is a credit card. That too.

edit: Oh! Don't forget about the Magnagoran credit sales, I think we give the best deal out of any other city/commune. I've bought hundreds of credits from Mag over the years.

When and how? I'm Magnagora jumpfire.gif

I never bought a single credit for real cash, but I received some for events and stuff like that. From more notable things, an elemental plane map.
That being said, I got most of my credits by in-game means. What helps is that I know all the really profitable quests by heart, I am aware which ones of them are hassle-free enough to actually make them but have enough hassle not to be finished frequently, could probably tell you the directions inside the Gorgog Caves in my sleep, and I often used to play when other people were not around to hog MY quests.
And I was enemied to Magnagora most of the time, which prevented me from doing the highly lucrative Acknor quest.
Reiha2007-11-07 02:08:56
Never bought credits with gold, except that incident with the neo-Annabelle.

Usually buy it with a credit card, but I also get them through: city/guild credit sales (not much), and a lot from Artisanals these days.

Um, Daevos used to hold them once every couple of months. Once Bhairan settles in I'm sure the Iron Council will pester him about it. Things that can help you get more credits from the sales when the time comes: 1. Join the Legion (if you haven't already) 2. Join a greathouse (I only think d'Murani applies atm, oh, there is n'Kylbar too actually)

Lanath2007-11-07 11:55:15
I use gold, and attempt the artisanal and bardic contests every month. tongue.gif I usually fail. I am planning on buying some credits with actual money come the new year, but that's for making Lanath permanent, not getting the credits, although that will be a perk.
Unknown2007-11-07 12:22:22
I've done both. I got quite a few from bardics, some from city/commune sales, and some from buying them with OOC money. I wish I had the time to bash up millions of gold to buy credits with, but I can't ever seem to break 50k sad.gif.

I do know a few good gold quests as well, but I rarely actually do them. I'm usually busy talking or killing someone or something else productive like that.
Jack2007-11-07 12:27:31
I've spent quite a bit of RL money on credits but I enter the bardics if I can be bothered. Actually won once. female.gif
Aoife2007-11-07 13:28:35
Thus far, RL, some with gold, and some by trading.

I'll be working toward bardic in the future, just haven't had time due to school.

Winning 1,000 credits in the lottery was pretty cool, but I did spend over 600,000 gold on the tickets. smile.gif

My biggest fear is that I'll accidentally suicide and lose literally tens of thousands of credits worth of effort. I should just cave in and buy the basic credit package to keep that from happening...

That's still only 600 gold a credit, which is, of itself, a prize! laugh.gif

If you have an established character, I really do strongly recommend you pay $10 for the minimal investment to ensure that character is permanent.
Xiel2007-11-07 19:49:45
Hmm..bought a credit package to ensure I don't accidentally suicided, but after that, mostly Artisinals. wub.gif I hope I get lucky again.

Yeah, I make most of mine through bardics. I submitted one for last month and I'm hoping to win some, but the more I look at my story, the less confident I feel. sad.gif It's not really as good as what I thought when I wrote it.

However, I also make decent credits IG, via hunting and questing, and herbs if I'm not feeling lazy.

I've also spent about $40 on the game. That's about as much as you would pay for a regular computer game, and it's worth it for the permanent character, and the quick boost in lessons.
