And yeah, it is stupid easy to get a gun in the US, though getting one by opening a bankaccount is a bit of an exageration. Legally, you have to get a background check and go through a waiting period and all that here. Course, basicly, anyone who really wants a gun can get one if they know how and where.

I was myself abused as a child in school and memories of bullying make my heart a restless one still - even after years of therapy. Traumas affect to each of us differently, and I am very sorry that this guy never got the help he obviously needed.

No harm, no foul. Sometimes it's hard to tell what tone people are using when you're reading instead of hearing. Especially when the subject is touchy in the first place, like this one is for you.
